So, here is the latest discovery on my car. Those who having trouble, suffering from high fuel consumption, I have the answer for you.

Those who following V25 should understand I had an adventurous meetup with lhwj, tested his BLM SE and he drove my sick BLM also. As I've suffering high FC previously and swear I wanted to see him drive my car as he's 1 and only dude that drive a GaGa like a Prius!

336km still have 2 box blink.gif Either my fuel indicator rosak, or the car did TRANSFORMED after drove by Luke. Unless I use haiway, otherwise its impossible to see 336km can still see 2 bar at the fuel indicator rclxm9.gif

Don't ask me how! The greatest discovery is, AFTER Luke drove my car, it became good FC! notworthy.gif

He is not the only one... icon_idea.gif

Coolkwc provided a better/money saving solution to all of us. If your bat3 is original ramcar, you can tear off the sticker on top, you'll find water cap on top. Open it up check & see whether got enuf water to cover those nickle plates. If not, go buy bat3 water top it up. This can extend the bat3 life. However, if you see water level still sufice, then there's nothing you can do liao. Go bat3 shop ask them to load your bat3 check with the meter see how much left. Anything below 12.3v is dangerous, your car may not start anytime yawn.gif
*
Stock Ramcar is wet battery, just the electrolide inside is formulated for less water consumption during operation, if u want to extend its life, top up still needed, but most of the users don bother to do so, because it will have at least 2 years before dead caused by dried up inside, they sastified adi.

Besides of 1st gear, around 3~3.5krpm shift up. Shift down also, double de-clutch to make sure RPM was kept within 2.5krpm range. Over taking also, downshift with double D, before acceleration icon_idea.gif Vacuum maintain -0.4~-0.6bar(or 12in/hg ~ 18in/hg)
*
Honestly i dun understand why need double de-clutch to shift leh? Due to DbW delay, our Gaga RPM will maintain around 1s before drop after u press clutch. As I know double de-clutch purpose is to maintain rev during shifting period. hmm.gif

I ady PM you right before this. Forgot r?

FLX manual not much better also, 90km/h @ 2.8k RPM, 110km/h @ 3.3k RPM, only 200-300 rpm lower than us. Well, i calculate using gear ratio calculator from website.

QUOTE(lhwj @ Jul 24 2012, 11:20 PM)
I normally fill up when the warning light comes on. At that point about 29-30 litres will fit in the tank. Don't think I've pumped with one solid bar remaining before. Bear in mind that as pointed out above, only about 36 litres is usable. After many tanks you will know how far to push the warning light while preserving a safe reserve amount. When the nozzle trips, the tank isn't quite full, often you can fit another 2-3 litres by gently squeezing the nozzle lever gently repeatedly until the fuel nearly overflows.

Okay, about the fuel pump. Yes the fuel pump dissipates heat into the fuel as the pump is submerged in the fuel. When the warning light comes on there is still a substantial quantity of fuel left. The best way to find out is to take out the Gaga fuel tank, cut off the top part, fill just enough fuel to make the warning light disappear and see how much of the fuel pump is immersed. I don't believe the fuel pump is so fragile till the tank must always be at least half full. I've been doing this for two years and nobody here has reported a fuel pump failure. By not using the full capacity of the tank you drastically reduce the range of each tank (consumption doesn't change). I don't like filling up at the petrol station for three reasons. You have to handle the dirty nozzles, you breathe in the poisonous vapours and you expose yourself to robbery and car jacking. I'd rather run my tank low and fill up less often.
*
+1.

I doing that almost 3 years, nothing happen in fuel pump(touch wood), maximum fuel up not exceed 34L, becos i know how much to push after warning light is out.

Just a same reason as you, no point to pump 2-3 times/week.

2 months ago i tried to pump front 250/230kpa for F/R, no doubt FC a little bit improve, handling also, maintain for almost 2 months, pump each week...finally give up on that and pump back 220/200 F/R, due to too noisy when cruising on loose surface tarmac.

No particular time table. If the original mentenen phree bat3 is working fine, then don't bother. Until it shows symphtoms like after long night cold start, starter doesn't kick in immediately. Something like you turn the key, it crank once " queek..." Silent ph34r.gif turn the key again "wekekeke VROOM" baru start, this is typical sympthom of bat3 less than 12V. Then you cabut sticker(normally after warranty, if still within 1 year better go claim warranty), open the water cap & top up bat3 water.

After cabut sticker, the bat3 is no longer mentenen phree, need to check it regularly, like once a week. Lazy bugger may do it every oil change(5k) icon_rolleyes.gif
*
No la bro, maintenance free is still maintenance free, it won't change since u cabut that sticker, because each cap is same as those maintenance battery, got rubber ring attached, once u close back, the water won't lost one. The ingredient inside Maintenance free battery is formulated such that it will consume little water during operation only. I adi top up twice, 2nd time is around after 9 months, the water inside still more or less same level.

My latest is about 10.5km/l only. But I think my tires is the bigger culprit  hmm.gif

BTW, bigger tires also slightly affect traveled-distance count like it affects speedometer accuracy right?

My speed now match closer to my speedometer, last time got as much as 5km/h difference to GPS  rclxms.gif
Memang.
*
my speedo also 5-6km/h higher than my GPS, but mileage meter is same as GPS.

Anyway, since u change to bigger tyre now, your actual mileage should be more than trip meter shown.

Your FLX SE's speedo goes to 240 km, rite? Dunno whether Potong calibrated it for the 195/50/15 tyres. My speedo compared to GPS is pretty accurate.

I think the speedo is calibrated based on 14" tyre, mine 13" show higher speedo than GPS.

Really enjoy your long story...

Anyway, other than the differences are due to different brand of RSB+FSB, how about the tyre difference? Although same is 195/55/15, but rubber is different right? Won't it also affect the front/rear feedback? hmm.gif

My car drank it's second bottle of revo this evening, gooding yo flex.gif

[attachmentid=2967912]
[attachmentid=2967914] [attachmentid=2967916]

I first used this on my Gaga immediately after my 5k km service. At that time I wasn't sure if the effect was because of the fresh engine oil or the Revo additive.

This time, after changing to 15w-50, I drove for 100++km before putting in the revo, and the effects became more obvious:

- Markedly less vibration during idling. Quieter too.
- Engine is more rev-happy and accelerates smoother
- Throttle noticably more responsive

At RM30, far better than the crap that is X1R but only half the price  rclxms.gif

I also have leather seats brows.gif Summore you think mine is more comfortable wub.gif

I dunno if I should feel jealous that the original SE (mine) wasn't available with 1.6, after the awesome 400km drive to Tasik Temenggor and back on Saturday. After Kulim the highway ends and you get a single lane per direction trunk road and that was the first time I took my Gaga for some serious trunk road driving. Before the trip I thought the most you can do on the trunk road was 50-60 km/h but turns out that if no slowpoke is blocking you, normal highway speeds (110) are possible on some stretches, and most corners can be taken at 80-90, without braking.

Of course there was the occasional slowpoke, and this was where I rediscovered my Gaga. Drop one or two gears, then floor the throttle. Overtaking felt so easy, there wasn't any panic if you can make it before the traffic on the opposite lane gets too close. It really didn't felt like a 1.3. What more there were 4 persons on board. So after this, if anyone says the 1.3 is underpowered, they're prolly stuck with the 4AT, or they aren't shifting the gears properly. That drive taught me a few more things about shifting gears.

There was one brown FLX Executive which smoked me during the drive. Came up very fast from behind and just disappeared. Dunno whether it was a manual or CVT. The driver was prolly very familiar with the road.

I think that road would be the perfect place for YAB Unker to test his new bars icon_idea.gif

And despite so many full throttle overtaking with 4 in the car, the consumption on the trip was 6.9L/100km. Not bad at all.
*
I personally prefer trunk road than highway, trunk road i can play with gear and clutch, make me fresh while driving. Highway drive boring like no tmr.

When my car still new, @ around 900km, 1st time i drive back Ipoh from Johor. total 530km, i purposely took trunk road for around 200km. FC? i refuel after my trip meter reach 530km, i consider very good la.

2nd time lagi 够力, from Johor to Ipoh also, i purposely from Skudai go to pontian and to Tangkak (all in Johor) via seaside trunk road, took me almost 4 hours before exit Johor state. But fun to drive, overtake, just drop gear, single de-clutch tongue.gif and rev to red line. Speed almost maintain @ 100km/h.

After that tyre aging, engine aging, noise here noise there, less passion, mostly just took trunk road from Tanjung Malim to Ipoh, around 160km.

After that even trunk road from Tanjung Malim also less since i got my 1st trunk road overspeed summon (f, speeding @ trunk road but not highway).

The last most exhausted trunk road experience should be CNY this year, i departed from my gf house @ Segamat, via trunk road to Tangkak, go to KL via highway, until Sungai Buloh, encounter traffic jam, mostly stop and 20-30km/h only. i have no choice, go out to trunk road from Rawang, all the way until Ipoh...Really suffer, took me 5 hours before reached home. sweat.gif

Now with gf on car, mostly full boring highway trip. yawn.gif Mostly each month go Segamat via trunk road for around 180km.
