Hi All, I originally posted this is "Proton Problem thread", not sure where to put it. I am wondering if other FLX owners knew about this "missing" undercarriage rust proofing. Some may not notice them if you are driving a dark colour car. But mine is white, so easily seen. Maybe this is the reason that some component rust over time like the exhaust hook cos the metal are bare steel.
"Hi All, got my FLX MT 1.5 mths ago and I noticed that FLX (not sure abt FL) does not come with undercarriage rust proofing unlike the older models. Other Proton models have this. I asked service center and they confirmed.

I asked around, it seemed this could be a cost down activity. I feel undercarriage rust protection is vital because we don't get to see them often like the top section. If it starts to rust and do not treat we are going to get FUBAR.

I asked SC if we can pay for the coat, but they also dont know if it is possible.

Anybody know where we can do this coating in 3rd party shop? I am still searching but no results yet.

Hi Fubar20, sorry not looking for you but hi anyway!  I meant if we don't do something to the car and starts to rust we are going to get "F **ked U p B eyond A ll R ecognition", cos I don't think Proton SC will help. So we help ourselves

When I had my Waja last time, there is a booklet on rust proofing that came with the owners manual. This time, FLX nothing! I only hv owners manual & service booklet.

The SC said BLM still has rust coat. After that don't have. But I cannot confirm for FL, but you can take a quick look at two areas:

1) wheel arch and look at the area behind the coil spring & absorber. If you see car body colour only then no coating.   My FLX white, so very clear!

2) look below the car at the area where the spare tire compartment is, if it is body colour again that you see, then no coating also.

I found out about this, when sent for 1K service. They jacked up the car and go look-see undercarriage and saw things that I thought should be there but not there...

yeah.. brand new.. got it last Tuesday.
now booking for appointment for Saturday.
bad luck.. toto pula tak kena.. hahahah

I'm not sifu, YAB oni. Wifey got ask, I say each unit I earn 8 bucks(she didn't know that's the cost price), she was happy finally I start my business. Now she's expecting me to give her half the "profit", 40 units X 8 bucks / 2, will have to pay her 160 by end of the month No more bulk order in future

u got the idea wrong. She's not suspecting, just asking like normal routine, just like any other wife ask her husband whether come back dinner. YAB sohigh to be gangho tell a white lie, in the end kena karma lo 160 small matter, later kena nag say do so many thing no profit even more I kena suffer I'm glad I did this to our GaGa member. You should go back Pesoga tered & organize your bulk there too. Healthier cabin, better for the family, build yourself more karma in helping others

P/s thank you for lecturing, I have not under estimate any of you young punk by all means. If ngam, take my explanation. Even if not ngam, let's just end this with my apology and hope no 1 will let down in doing bulk order with 0 profit in future

Pps: my wife is a reasonable person. I don't want her to worry me much. She dun like mod car, I still mod, but I hide it well. In life is all trial & error. Tear down sticker/demod sport spring small matter, I can live with it

All my life been to Plotong SC once, in my ISWAGA, which has no cabin filter at all! So, am not qualify to answer your question relate to SC concern. However, I take a safe bet they don't check AT ALL! Any taker?
