I was wondering how many here in LYN that owned RK3066 chipset tablets? (Cube U30GT / Yuandao N101 / Aoson M11)

Previously I was sceptical of China's branded made products, and have never bought China phone especially after hearing so many of it's issue. But this tablet specs and performance caught my eyes. And after reading many reviews I decided to take the plunge and got myself a U30GT.

The standard accessories included in the Cube U30GT are Warranty card, USB cable, OTG cable and power adapter. The specification of the adapter is 12V/2A. The battery of Cube U30GT is consists of two 3600mAh lithium batteries which need high voltage. Therefore, it does not support USB charge on your pc. There are two screen protectors on the tablet, users are expected to remove one and remain the inner layer to protect the display.

As we can see, the design of the Cube is mature and elegant. The metal surrounding of edges leaves a stable and strong impression. The thickness of the tablet is remarkable. The material on the back side is plastic which is smooth and mellow. White color is classic and fashionable.

The IPS display of Cube U30GT comes from HannStar which is also used in Asus F101 and SmartQ T20. The resolution is up to 1280*800. The illumination is up to 350cd/㎡ and the contrast is up to 600:1. Same as other IPS display, the Cube U30GT gets a wider visible angel. The exquisite images and high illumination offers you a very comfortable effect.

Cube U30GT comes with the HDMI output, select the option means that the tablet can support HDMI output, and the resolutions of the video can be configured.

The video rendering on the Cube U30GT is excellent even for the HD videos. There is rarely lag on the video while playing the movies.

Conclusion, I feel this tablet is worth it's price and more. High end tablet and moderate price. The only downside is that right now only have 1 developer that cooking ROM for this tablet. But as more people buying this tablet there would be more developers that would start supporting it, even now a lot user are asking XDA to create a subforum for this tablet.

I compared 10.1" and 7" and found 7" too small for me. 10.1" like twice the screen size than 7".

And the 1280*800 screen gives a very detailed picture, tried with HD trailer, damn gooding.

I just got my window n101 few days ago. The performance is really good, graphic is really nice.I bought it mostly for presentation or business use. 10.1" is perfect for presentation.

Thought wanted to get U30GT from ccs, well, suddenly news pop-up shown that yuandao n101 has released from some searches and forum. Directly places an order from aliexpress and awaiting for shipment to arrive right now.

Would like to apologize to @ccs221 for fly kite. Sorry sir.

Apart from that, hmmm, n101 is in pre-order status now. Well, even China online store like taobao don't get them for selling, I guess they are targeting worldwide market thus stocks were sent to aliexpress & pandawill first.

From recent news, n90#2 will having 4.1 JB update soon. Hope they will bring n101 the same good news.


If you were to take 7", I have to agree that new 8gb Nexus 7 worth the bucks. But for the 16gb version, its different story, Ainol Aurora 2 16gb priced @ RM5xx, while Nexus 7 @ RM9xx. If we don't mention about the specifications, its quite a gap for me.

But, 9.7" & 10.1" is in different league, if they could make one and priced it @ RM 1000 for 8gb, it will sells like hot cake.

Btw, I would like to see China manufacturers stabilize their firmware & OS more than proceeding with quad-core(IMO, quite useless on tablet) when dual-core is more than enough at current situation. I don't think someone render graphic or did conversion with tablet, ermmm, and with the 1gb of RAMs.

So fast your tablet arrived already? How many days from order till received? Do give a review.

I think most important is China tablet to have good and quality hardware. Then more people would buy it and more Dev would create custom rom for it.

P/S, typing this using my U30GT while on bed, and much more comfortable than using my Evo 3D.

at first i was going to buy this tablet or n90, but google n7 make me so hard~~

Depends you want brand or screen size. Performance both should not have any problem.

Window N101. Have been using it for few days. Few things problem i encounter with this tablets are
(i) On 2nd day, when i was charging the tablets, the screen becomes insensitive. there were times like certain parts of the screen was touched by itself (maybe due to the heat from the charging process)
(ii) Later, when it is charging, i multitask, the whole screen was frozen. doesn't response to my touch,
I tried to power off (clicking power button), but it needs my permission by touching on the screen "Yes" to turn off. So can't turn off. I have to wait for few days for the battery to finish off then only can turn on again.
(iii) Few days later, the battery is finally depleted. I fully charge the battery, it drains really fast. Even on standby mode, it drains 40% over 3 hours.

I don't know whether it is due to firmware problem that could cause all this problems.

(i) it was due to faulty charger. already have many complaint about it.

(ii) if not mistaken you can press more than 4 seconds of the power button and it will restart/shutdown

(iii) maybe need to wipe the battery stats data. try use battery calibration to wipe it.

the good news about the product is that the processor datasheet is available. How about the source code?

install from Google Play, then just follow its instruction.

yesterday for H model, and today for W model.
and already have patch to clean up the bloatware and install some missing apps + superuser for root

it ain't Nexus 7 but it also have Jelly Bean

price for the U30GT really fits my budget, but i see so many RMA and defect issues on tabletrepublic and slatedroid

i think i'll hold back first until they sort out the QC issue

Seems most of the issue only on 1st batch, like screen bleeding or wifi signal not strong enough.

But the latest batch seem to have inferior screen. previously is IPS screen, now some say is MVA screen?

mind do I suggest smartq t30 to all forumers here...?

reckoned tablet built from SmartQ is a very good buy....interms of build quality and
official support.very2 less buyer complaint against it....
from my opinion I'm buying that tablet mainly for the proc capability and the future ....
maybe we can port multiple os can be running on this proc. as the last series from smartq
which is T20 is officially support for running on Ubuntu.If there is warm welcome to
this tablet I'm pretty sure we can opt for triple OS on it...Android-Ubuntu-Window RT....

Bought the CUBE U30gt, nice tablet is all i can say, now looking for some screen protector and maybe a stylus as well...

Saw someone in LYN is selling this Cube U30GT, but what's the difference between this Cube and Aoson M11?
Can they use the same ROM and firmware?
I noted that you tag Cube's ROM and firmware in first post.

So far no issue,.been using it from it's release till now. Mine is H model.

Because my one is Cube U30GT. But Yuandao N101 and Aoson M11 have same CPU & gpu and about the same spec.

Unless Aoson is rebrand from Cube, I don't think can use its rom /firmware. Like Cube can't use Yuandao firmware, vice versa.

That would be better as you can check if got any manufacturing defect.
Buying online is risky as can't check the product.

Most important is the manufacturer and community support.
Cube have been good by always releasing update. And there's a strong community support.

Yuandao seems slower update than Cube, if not mistaken they still on ICS.

Never checked Aoson, so not sure how well is the support.

how much u buy ut u30GT ??? how about u20GT ??? this got gorilla glass(scractch ressistent).. is it good ?? can upgrade to jellybean too ??

U20GT is letter box 9.7", U30GT is widescreen 10.1". cater for different usage. but U30GT didn't have gorilla glass.

i don't know much about U20GT as when i bought U30GT, U20GT haven't come out. and heard U20GT haven't got JB.

i don't think you can get RK3066 with it's quad core GPU at below RM500. RM500 only can get good spec 7" or lousy spec 9.7"/10.1"

For Cube, I'm thinking of buying from LYN seller.

Good and responsible seller, but Aoson M11 is slightly more expensive.
And bad side about M11 is no JB yet.

After conversion, it's not cheap anymore.
I still prefer to buy Cube or Aoson M11 locally anytime. Safer and more convenient in case anything crops up.

Agree and second important is the community, Cube community is growing and for that trend, worth to go with that..

yup, true. take for example like Nexus 7, just after a week of launch there's already custom ROM and many mods. if it is released as 10.1", more expensive RM100-200 than U30GT i also will buy coz got a lot community support.

i'm using Infected 1.3 ROM, very fast and stable, plus the battery also feels can last longer.

i want to use china tablet...but already had experienced with china tablet once, and from my point of view, the lack of china tablet were such as regularly system hang, wifi are very weak and had regular lost connection even close with the wifi router, and the sound are really dull and not clear...the mic seems not works at all and lastly the software support...dunno if the latest china tablet have improve a lot since 2011, but if i want to buy any china brand tablet again, i will make some deep research first before buying...

After 4 days idle and 2 plus hours of screen on, my battery balance



Only the wifi a bit weak, but other than that no other problem.

After I got this tablet, I never look at other tablet.

Spec about the same as U30GT, except for the 32GB and different screen size + retina display.
But is it worth the few extra hundreds than U30GT?

im using window N90II

the battery % show not accurate i think

for first 50%, the battery drop very slow

but after 50% its drop very fast =/

example, first 50% can last 6h on screen time, the balance 50% can only last for 1h+

mine U30GT also have the same issue, when i compare with battery monitor widget pro, there's big difference with what Android said it have vs what battery monitor widget pro said it have. but after 1-2 weeks and few time of charging, it become more accurate and the gap is much smaller already.

I personally using Infected ROM and "Pimp my Rom!" script. now is battery save and buttery smooth.

my tablet goes crazy

its not go into deep sleep and running at 816mhz... the power button feel a bit warm.... and run out of battery fast....

i did full wipe ( included cache file etc ...) and install latest firmware.... same problem still Zzz

im using window n90II

try install batterystatplus. maybe there's an app that prevent it from sleeping.

batterystatplus show Cell Standby taken 70.02%

also i full wiped with fresh install, shouldnt be app problem....

how come got cell standy?
that is for GSM radio signal.

maybe there's a setting that the ROM have it enable to search for radio signal?

i have no idea, i donno where to disable it.....
i have un-ticked the mobile network... but still the same.....
