I wasn't particularly attracted to the movie coz trailer sucked but I watched it anyway coz a girl friend jio-ed. It turned out to be fantastic!
It's not a direct sequel. No links to old jumanji except for the board game casing (the box). The adult casts were perfect. Kevin Hart + Jack Black, what more can you expect? Just laugh at the whole movie! And holy shit, the 'smoldering intensity' thingy was hilarious it made the whole cinema laughed damn hard, hahaha!
I guess everything was good. Only downside was the younger casts weren't that great, but doesn't really matter considering they're not the main focus anyway.
Watched it. Loved it. MVP of the movie is jack black. He is the star and Bravestone have smoldering intensity as super power then i give roundhouse smoking hot as her super power.
the movie was very entertaining. the cast has good chemistry and i love that they made the change from board game to video game (and the mechanics )
they even have an easter egg that pays homage to Robin Williams character from the first Jumanji. good word of mouth from audience is gaining it momentum too.
I did not want to watch this, and the trailer did this movie, no favour...
Instead of a reboot, this movie is an actual sequel of Jumanji (1995), and what an homage it is!! (technically, there is a sequel already, namely, Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005), but that is another story)
So, does this movie suffer from the curse of the sequel (eg. does not live up to expectations)?
I can only answer in this way....
RIP
ROARING
FUN
So, like the 1995 movie, only, funner (I know I know, bad English...).
Okay, I know alot had be stated about Dwayne Johnson or Kevin Hart, for me, the most fun character in the movie is Jack Black's Bethany!!!
He
Was
AMAZING!!!
He actually earned my respect as a actor in this!!

Is it really.... a BIG budget family oriented movie...
That is not...
Disney?
Yes, kiddies.
They DO exist, not many, and have to add, they exist.
After the rather successful reboot of Jumanji, Sony went ahead with this, and it is decent
Story wise, first arc good, second arc, right at the middle, became convoluted and it was saved by the rather good third arc!!
Much is made of Danny DeVito in the movie, and have to say Dwayne Johnson probably spent some time with Danny to learn his mannerism, and it some what works.
Kudos to Kevin Hart, again, most of the show is being stolen by him.
The convoluted parts in the movie, I feel, maybe caused by the new characters... I don't like to name names... but having Awkwafina (I am not familiar with her work) as Ming here... kinda of cause, lacking a better word, awkwardness to the story...
Overall, very entertaining movie
Will there be more, well, the ending does suggest it, and in an old school way... Which is a good thing...
Like always, my two sen

Was surprised with the first Jumanji remake, i thought they did a good job of making it unique but staying true to the essence of the game. I wonder if the second one is going to be good.
