how to expose some functions of your program

hey, the platform is VB.NET, since i need to use COM inside the VB.NET, any idea what can i do?

is web services is the only way? any more simpler method? thank q

tried the COM with PHP, not working, don't really want to use ASP pure web-based solution lor,

Web service is the standard(and more convenient) way to expose your functions to the web.

If you do not want to use web service. You can consider CORBA or DCOM which IMHO even more complex and difficult to implement and configure. Web service only needing HTTP port but CORBA or DCOM requires more ports and security check due to it overwhelm ability (I suppose you have heard of what DCOM vulnebilities can do for your system?). And stuff like CORBA is very $$$ expensive. You need an ORB server which I doubt you can get it free.

You can implement your web service in J2EE or .NET or pure SOAP based. It is up to your perferences.
