Hi guys, I saw one entry in my Amex transaction details...anyone have any idea on this?
Thought it is the recent 20% cashback promo, but the amount and date are not as per T&C...
And I am not new-to-bank customer.
I will call CS later tonite to find out...

You received a SMS to ask about AMEX Corporate Color, right ?
This is the RM100 from the Year-End "season of winnings" contest. You get one entry for every RM100 swipe.

Oh, I rechecked, the sms came back in June...
Thanks for reminding. It is great. rclxms.gif
I also tried checking the Amex website...cant find the link to the winners' list.

Consider "GST-less" 2 years down the road. Thank you Maybank. notworthy.gif

Hmmmmm, rather confused... rclxub.gif
I found my name in the Jan 2012 list, but I received/replied the "Amex corporate color" question sms only in June 2012! shocking.gif
Now, it back to my question I posted earlier, what is this "Season of Winning"?

Not really. It depends on how u think. Put it this way. U only need to spend rm1000 on weekends per year in order to earn back ur rm50 GST. After that all rebates are bonuses.

If u memang refer to the "places to use Amex" there's a lot of places where I think u would be spending ur money on, even more so if u r family oriented.

Groceries - Tesco, carrefour, jusco, etc
Departmental - isetan, parkson
Petrol - any petrol other than petronas is a breeze to use
Guardian and Watson

I applied this card just to utilize on any chance to get 5% on my shopping which is not under the 4 categories of ocbc titanium.

The first thing I move over to Amex is petrol. Monthly petrol is about rm150, sometimes more. So I am already earning rm7.50 a month. That is the Monthly "fixed" charge to Amex. Then slowly I know that tngo can be reloaded with Amex at Senheng. I reload tngo rm300 monthly. So there goes another rm15. Taking the total to rm22.50, although rm200 is for my gf and and pay her back the rebate earned (but it's good to save for ppl around u as well)

This is not including the occasion groceries (I dun buy groceries often, not my role). And the occasion visit to Watson and guardian. But the biggest point is that, when shopping, if an outlet accept Amex, it always makes me happy. since u need to shop once in a while anyway, If u r able to get 5% off it, it's a good bonus. Tell me how many other card can do that?

And let's not forget the 5x TP equivalent about 2.5% earned.

The conclusion is, u dun need to hit rm50 rebate every month to utilize on this card. laugh.gif

+1
For me, by calculation, I can hit close to RM80-90 cash rebate per month....(exceeded the cap). biggrin.gif Just continue to collect 5x TP.
My OCBC Ti card also hit the max cash rebate every month. tongue.gif
They are really the mighty combo in term of cash rebate. rclxm9.gif (I have cancelled all my other cards.)

I just published my article titled Maybankard 2 AMEX for Paying Bills Online with M2U and for TNB with Express Autopay.

As many of you know, we can use our Maybankard 2 AMEX cardholders to pay our Unifi and other bills with Maybankard 2 American Express via Maybank2U.com and earn 5X Treats Points.

Unfortunately, we still cannot perform online payment using our MBB 2 AMEX for TNB bills. But the good news is, we still can pay our TNB bills via Express AutoPay with any American Express charge or credit card including the Maybankard 2 AMEX and earn 5X Treats Points.

To learn more, please click on the link above to my article where I have given step by step instructions on how to perform online payment using the Maybankard 2 AMEX for Unifi and showed that the MBB 2 AMEX can also be used for various bills including Telekom, Local Council bi-yearly Assessments and Glenmarie Golf & Country Club.

In the above mentioned article, I have also given step by step instruction to download the AMEX Express Autopay Enrollment Form so that you can start earning 5X Treats Points for your TNB bills. I also touched on the pros and cons of using our MBB 2 AMEX to pay our bills online via M2U versus Autodebit and Direct Debit.

Thanks for the details in your blog.
But for online payment to local council assessments bill...many are not accepting Amex. For MBPJ only visa/master. sad.gif Hope they enable Amex in the near future. At the moment, can only go for Autopay (which we can't time for weekend 5% cash rebate).
