i see some shops offer monthly installments in buying tv using credit cards. the shops say 0% interest for 12 months. how is that 0% possible when the bank already charge 8.88%?
*
8.88% is the interest charge to your acc when you not settled the amount due in full.

Example:
You purchased RM12k with 0% for 12 months on 5 Aug 2012. Therefore, monthly installment is RM1k. Let say your statement date is on 10th every calender month. Therefore, you need to pay RM1k every month for 12 consecutive month before 30th of every calender month (20 days interest free from statement date).

If you not pay in full on every 30th of calender month, then the interest charge come in (8.88%). In short, as long as you pay in full before statement due date, every retail purchase or EPP 0% is really interest free. You just need to pay RM50 GST every year for your card.

Can now pay your maybank credit card bill at post office FREE!

Check out maybank website for a list of post offices, just saw it earlier.

Other banking services also available at these post offices.
Nice move.

Can you give the link where you see it?

I saw aeon cc in pos office website. Link as per below:-

Today I had used my card 6 times and received sms for 5. Quite high %. And also received calls from Maybank CS after making all 6 transactions. Quite satisfied with their security service. =)

QUOTE(JonnY @ Sep 1 2012, 11:27 PM)
Did anyone ever swipe your credit card over the limit?

I just back from shopping and count total usage of my Maybankard 2 cards at M2U.

Lets say my combined limit given is RM2000 (not the real amount). I had EPP of RM1000 and had pay the installment of RM100 for 2 months. So I still had RM1200 to use. Until yesterday I had swipe a total of RM1000. Then today I swipe again with total RM300.

If count total money I swipe + EPP, I had use up credit of RM2100. How can that be? Haha... Maybe the transaction haven't been post so I still can use more than my credit limit.

I still need to pump fuel tomorrow, so I pay RM300 first just now. Don't want to take any risk.

Anyone would like to try and let me know what is the consequences? brows.gif
*
I tried that before (around 1/2 year ago), tried until the card cannot swipe (transaction failed). The consequence is you don't know when your transaction will fail. No penalty for over credit limit (told by CS).

You can setup to have ALL Transacations > RM1.00 to be sent an SMS ... why need to wait for "selected" transaction ?
*
Mind to tell me how to set? Didn't see such options in M2U..=.=..

Why you never read this important thread  tongue.gif

Just call MBB CS and tell them you want SMS alert amount to be RM1 and above. And I believe we should thank hye and others who have called MBB early this year and requested that they allow us to set the default value to RM1  rclxms.gif
*
Thank you very much to ronnie and Gen-X... I wasn't aware of this at all.. =.= Will call CS later to change the default value.. Btw, you call Maybank or AMEX CS to change?

I thought they don't inform you... unless I am wrong. Did any of the winners so far get advanced notification from Maybank?

I certainly don't recall anyone announcing they won until they got credit in their statemeents this month (which is abt 2 months later?).
*
Since many people get credited already for July transaction but I didn't get any, meant I'm not the winner right?

When did you do your transaction? If you did it on a 30th July the rebates will be on next month.

*
I did it on 16 July.. Purposely did it at 12 noon as I thought PayPal transaction would be -12 hours as the address I paid is based in US.. There goes my RM50 if I did it on weekend... doh.gif

Do you know that USA has several time zones and not every where is -12 hours difference.

Why you never read Page#1 where I posted MilesAndMore telling you guys specifically what time to use your card for Pay Pal.

Monday 12noon Malaysia time = Sunday Pay Pal HQ time.

However, you should get the RM50 since it would be on a Sunday.
*
Hi Gen-X, the transaction date fall on Monday itself...

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Sep 10 2012, 12:39 AM)
Well, beats me why it is so. So I guess from your post we can learn 2 things:

1. After Monday midday the probability of winning th cash back is very slim. Like I mentioned in my article American Express 20% Cash Back we have to charge at 12.01am Monday morning to win it, hahaha. People do actually go clubbing on Sunday till wee hours in the morning around KL. Also the malls open at 10.30am, and that's when your probability of the cash back gets slimmer by the minute. I bet there will be more than 100 people using their AMEX between 10.30am and 12pm.

2. Online transactions cannot assure us we may win the cash back.

Anyway, 3 years ago I did win a Longines watch using my AMEX Charged Card for an online transaction to pay for part of my son's Uni tuition fee in US. Same condition like first come first serve basis. However I cannot remember if I did the transaction after midnight or after midday.
*
Since we don't know what time the transaction would be recorded in maybank system, so next time should just charge it after midnight.. If transaction date fall on Sunday then at least still got RM50 consolation.. haha..

Yup, already cease being an on-the-redemption counter since May.
Even Parkson vouchers at Mahkota are out of stock, we are being neglected here.
*
Now I seldom go PJ, so can't redeem in 1U already.. Forced to redeem with 1k pts more expensive with every RM100 vouchers then.. :'(

Haha.. I planned to redeem RM400/RM500 jusco vouchers. So RM20/RM25 worth of TP gone... cry.gif

Not sure how far are you from 1U, but I seldom go there also.
Recent weekend also purposely go there to redeem all TP to Jusco voucher, few hundred RM also. In preparation for my own assumption that TP inflation is coming soon.
For the remaining TP, I redeem all into McD 2000TP=RM10, i.e. similiar rate 200TP=RM1. Sometimes can use during lunch. But this one got expiry date late-2013.

Just take it as a weekend shopping, relax for a coffee/tea, walk around a bit to catch up on changes, etc. Half day and then go home.

Last time I'm working near 1U... Now come back hometown working.. So really "far far" away from 1U.. haha.. blush.gif
