Yes u can. Just insist to the receptionist (a.k.a cashier) that u want to pay full amount upfront. No deposit needed etc.Anyone tried getting them to charge you when you check in?

Done that regularly for my business travel. Of course it varies to each hotel, so be polite and ask to be entertained by supervisor/manager if the staff refuses.
