i have the impression that once new CC number is generated, it is considered new and will be charged with GST. Unless the replacement card gets the same number but this is very risky since the card is lost (not damaged, etc)
*
No, service tax will not be charged again where a replacement card is issued due to the original card being lost, stolen or fraudulently used, regardless of the new card number.

i lost mine, and they charged rm50. dont worry, it will come  tongue.gif
*
The RM50, if charged, would be the penalty/service charge for replacement of lost cards, and not the service tax discussed earlier. I guess you could try requesting for a waiver of the service charge.

I have a question regarding MBB2 Amex CCV.

Is it the last 3 digit at the back of the card OR the 4 digit at the front of the card on the right side above card number?
*
For American Express cards, the security code is the 4-digit number printed on the front side of the card above the card number.

Oh! I see..the one that appear on the face of the card above the Amex Logo.
I thought is the 3 digit numbers that appear at the back on the card like the Mastercard or Visa card.

Thanks a lot!
*
Yes, for Amex, it's the 4-digit number on the right above your card number.

I always use my Amex for all my AirAsia bookings.

Yes using AMEX for booking can get cash rebate and TP, however, they charge you for credit card fees right? If not mistaken is RM10 per trip per person. As for me i will just use direct debiting.
*
QUOTE(Human Nature @ Nov 14 2012, 05:45 PM)
It is now RM16 processing fee with AA.
*
Yes, AirAsia now charges a processing fee of RM8 per person per sector, ie, RM16 for a return trip.

@Bongpb: Yes, you are right in that you will be better off paying via direct debiting, but only if your return trip fare does not exceed RM1,600 per person for Amex cards with 2X points, or RM640 per person for Amex cards with 5X points. Beyond those amounts, you'll be earning more than the quantum of the processing fee. smile.gif

just wanna ask. let say i BT my amex outstanding to another bank, will i still get the treatpoints?
*
Yes, you have already earned those treatspoints when your charges were posted. Doing a BT is just a mode of settlement of your amount owing.

guys, is it possible for me to buy something using the credit card and later converted it into easy installment plan? any additional charge for this?
*
Yes. The requirements and charges differ among banks. You'd have to look at the individual bank's T&C.

dont forget Air Asia charge a fee for CC transaction. cheapest is to pay by direct bank transfer.
*
AirAsia charges a processing fee of RM8 per passenger per sector, ie, RM16 for a return trip. With 5x points from Maybankard 2 Amex, the breakeven would be RM640 for a return ticket for one person. Beyond RM640, one would be better off using the Maybankard 2 Amex. And this is before any other applicable rebates, if any.

Shows that i always buy the cheaper tickets thus my complaint tongue.gif

geek8585, i receive cashback (RM50 - max) for signing an iphone with Digi on weekend.
*
By the way, if one is entitled to 5x points AND 5% cash back, a return ticket price of RM214 would be sufficient to cover the processing fee. If you always buy cheaper than that, you must be a vivid hunter of offers and discounts. shocking.gif tongue.gif

i was caught the 1st time too eager in using Amex and didn't notice the extra charge until i made the payment sweat.gif
*
Ahhh ok.. So RM640 is a more realistic benchmark then. tongue.gif

So every month statement date and pay date is the same is on 23rd and 03?
*
Should be the same every month, ie, statement date 3rd and due date 23rd. I've encountered variations of 1 day though, several times.
