hi forumers,

yesterday, when i checked my statement to my surprise maybank has charge me the service tax (SERVICE TAX - PRINCIPAL) on 15th september 2012 where as my card is only 4 months old applied somewhere in july 2012. how is this possible. as i understand that the service tax will only be charged when the cards are 1 year old?
*
Did you see the GST charge on July 2012 ?
If not, this is the GST from July 2012 to July 2013

If i sign up the Maybank 2 gold/platinum, i assume the GST will be billed within the 1st or 2nd month, how can i get it waived if i do not spend a lot within the 2 months. If not wrong Gen-X mentioned in the first page, can call to waive only for 2k total spending.
*
Maybank must pay the GST via Cash or TreatsPoints redemption

QUOTE(GymBoi @ Oct 21 2012, 10:02 PM)
Hi guys ... I juz came back from 1U credit card centre to ask this question BUT I hope forummers please don't mind to reconfirm this for me because few months back I got into alot of trouble when taking advance cash (taking cash out from credit card)

So a question to those that have owe money before with this card BUT managed to pay minimum balance every month.

The rate is 8.88% p.a which means per month it will be 8.88% / 12 = 0.74% (I also understand this is just roughly as the exact amount will be computerized but it shouldn't differ much)

My question is, let say my limit is 20k and I owe MAXIMUM amount EACH MONTH .. and I only pay minimum balance each month .. the only "charge" will be :

0.74% * 20,000 = RM 148 ???

It really sounds too good to be true to me. I keep owing Maybank 20k but I only pay RM 148 extra (+ minimum balance) every month? Someone please tell me I'm wrong.

p/s: Yes I understand that advance cash will be a different calculation all together (Interest counted daily and all - that's where I got into trouble. But now my question is just for normal usage but owing 20k every month.
*
Firstly, you are NOT SUITABLE to use Credit Card.
Secondly, you are so naive that you can owe the bank RM20k and pay RM148 monthly.
Third, the 8.88% p.a. interest will go back to 18% p.a. if you don't settle the bill
Fourth, the interest effect will be COMPOUNDING.
Eg.
Interest rate : 18%
Outstanding Amount : RM10,000
Pay only minimum 5% every month
Repayment period : 7 years 5 months
Total Interest : RM4055

Online transactions could be risky as you do not when exactly the Online Merchant will process the payment.

Guys, may i know whats statement balance and outstanding balance at the m2u webpage?

I know for a fact that i pay the exact amount billed to me physically, the same day i receive it, yet the statement balance is still pretty high every month..
*
Statement Balance is updated when it passes the Statement Date AND doesn't become zero.
Only the Outstanding Balance becomes zero when full amount (= Outstanding Balance) is paid.

2 weeks. The customer service told me the statement will be reflected real time in my M2U account. Which is why i'm asking here.
*
Monthly Statement is generated after Statement Date.

CS is referring to Transaction History
Transaction History would appear under All Cards.
If your CC not listed, you need to call Maybank to "link" to your Maybank2U logon

I was suprised this morning, I checked M2U and I received RM100 cash back yesterday!! rclxm9.gif

Can't remember what promo was this, but I think it should be the one for new Amex holders back in August to swipe a certain amount and above to win.

On a side note, I noticed I can't see my remaining TP anymore for both cards, it was there last time. Anyone else can't see their TP?
*
Congratulations !!!! Possibly the 20% Cashback Promo ?

The TP breakdown will be shown after 12pm usually.
Check under the Reward Points on the left side.
