I just went for a test drive in a Scirocco 2.0 TSi. This is a demo car at VW Jln Ipoh and they're selling it for RM224k. It's got 4000+km on it.
I thought it was a fine car but I didn't like the way the throttle takes a second to react in slow traffic . Must be the DSG. And the DSG didn't feel as smooth as the one on a test GTI I tried previously. Could be a bit worn out from all the demo-ing but I could be wrong.
If anyone's interested, they've got a demo Scirocco R for sale too. RM260k+.

QUOTE(gamenoob @ Aug 12 2012, 05:25 PM) Actually you got it wrong. Fly by wire or drive by wire literally means electronic pedal and not old tech cabled throttled. Because it is electronic or drive by wire, the throttle respond actually is more instantaneous or responsive vs the old tech cabled linked throttle where you have slacks in the cable wires to the throttle body. Unfortunately the terms drive by wire actually not referring throttle cable wire but rather electronic version. The lagging or delay felt its due more to inexperienced dsg user or expectation that created or conditioned by the conventional AT. Could be me not used to the DSG, though when I drove the Golf GTI, I didn't experience the same issue. I'm more of a manual car driver and I find even the auto in my wife's Civic to lag a bit but that's probably just me.
