QUOTE(F1meteor @ Sep 27 2012, 04:02 PM) Do you know golf mk7's engine is no longer twin charged? I am also eager for mk7, but disspointed with the engine without twin charge But it still comes with newer tech and lighter, and cheaper hopefully the price will also be cheaper.. they mention that it is very expensive to build mk6 engine.. I saw they are doing the electric golf run on the vw facebook page.. the specs are not yet revealed i guess.. anyone got any idea about it?

QUOTE(nickyrox @ Sep 27 2012, 03:36 PM) Guys.. Need some opinions... Frankly speaking I love the new passat CC sport.. But it skyrocket my budget.. My budget around 150k.. So was thinking of golf tsi 1.4.. But I want the mk7 version.. Any idea on the around launch date for malaysia? In the mean time I'm quite tempted to get the optima K5.. Which is in my budget.. It has the looks.. So frustrated right now.. >,~! My wife booked the beetle already.. So I may want to go volks as well.. But I can't search any way on the web for any info on the golf mk7 launch date in malaysia.. If you can wait 1 year, I suggest you to wait for MK7. If open for pre-book, just go ahead for it. However, please do some extra reading, as the first MK7 engine spec is lower than existing 1.4TSI 160ps/240nm

Hmmm, but the new mk7 is lighter by 100kg right? So maybe give and take for the engine replacement? Is it better to get the current golf or wait for the new one?

Is it better to get the current golf or wait for the new one? the good thing about being in our market is able to see the next coming model is good or bad then choose. if the current one is more for your taste then go for it, or you want new then wait for it. same decision for my fellow civic owners, they saw the new car was crap so they went it the previous model instead before new one launch at discount price. QUOTE(Jim.tan @ Sep 27 2012, 10:44 PM) How I wish it was in Malaysia.. So I could test drive it.. Perhaps just book before even the test drive unit arrive.. Hahaa..,, the mk7 design looks so much more sportier.. What I like even, is the interiors... Can't make up my mind to wait or get others... Sigh...!

I feel is better to get a car that don't use petrol. Electrical engine will have less maintenance and you don't spend a penny on fuel. Can't wait for the electric Golf to come to Msia.. I know people say that electric cars not practical for long distance driving, but I believe they will over come that in the future. Maybe use kinetic power or movement to charge the battery while driving. Lets wait and see..

Maybe use kinetic power or movement to charge the battery while driving. Lets wait and see.. It is the future, the problem comes with the energy source. There's a technology hurdle to overcome in order to develop better batteries and remove the reliance of petrol/diesel. The good news is VW will start implementing the newly developed electric turbocharger from Audi in their new cars soon. It's supposed to solve the problem of turbo lag so you won't need twin charging engines anymore and it also comes with cylinder deactivation technology for even better FC along with all the complementing fuel saving technologies.
