after using racechip pro, my polo went from stock 105ps 175nm to 109ps 204nm (on wheel, dyno)
assuming 10% power loss on wheel, guestimate figures on crank is around 121ps 226nm

the torque diff is very noticeable and there's a slight kick on gear change around 3k-4k rpm range, max torque at 2500rpm!

improved torque figures well below dsg7 dq200 250nm limit  biggrin.gif

Seriously bro. Once in a while i drive polo sports
From dead stop i feel its faster than my stage 1.
Wonder whats the dyno number for stock polo tsi

mk5 is using EA113 cast iron engine block
while mk6 is EA888 aluminium engine block

more mod potential for ea113, it can handle more pressure than ea888
if i not wrong tts, s3, golf r & rocco r are using ea113 with upgraded/forged internal parts
well polo is about 1.1 tonne, it's about 300kg less than golf/rocco/beetle
better power to weight i guess

key diff for polo is the suspension, it's not using multi link rear like the rest
*
more potential hmm. but why mk6 output is considerably more?
no idea about polo's rear suspension. multilink is lighter?
yes lighter cars will do better off the line.

QUOTE(andy_heartless @ Sep 21 2012, 12:45 AM)
i have a friend who already upgraded his mk6 to stage 3 since last year i think.

*

You should ask for a ride from either exotic mod's green gti or APR boss, Karl's stage 4 gti.
He's beaten a few carrera 4S before when on stage 3 and that was almost 2 years ago. Wonder how the stage 4 feels like now rclxms.gif
*
daym. how many hp? 350? both are mk 6 ?

saw that green mk6 at Exmods before. drool.gif

wonder how long will their gb last.

actually, I am on stage 1 now. I thought at first! wah, i think i will be happy with the gain. Wont touch anymore further but as you get used to the power, you will yearn for more.

If we are talking about disturbing engine, i think the most intrusive to the engine would be stage 3.
even stage 2, you hardly need to touch the engine.

Full exhaust system and intake. HPFP optional.

Btw, the more powerful it gets.. wear and tear of parts will also increase faster.
sweat.gif  i think i will stay at stage 1 for a while more.
*
even the intake is optional. the downpipe is all it takes for stage 2 biggrin.gif

wear and tear is faster yes.... but counter it by servicing it more often, ie oil every 5-7K if u want your engine to last very long lah.

the VW forum is dead for now, but got 1 forummer there settled the rattle issue by going KKLau http://www.kklau.com.my/

RM1600 for all. they take out every single thing that are loose and put back again. no more rattle he said

Quick question for Golf GTI owners out there. Got a 2011 Golf here and wondering if anyone has any issues with brake modulation.

Also I seem to have a problem with the fuel indicator being a bit iffy.

spongy brakes? try upgrade to SSBH

or you can get that cc 3.2 which is absolutely for bonkers out there. tongue.gif

it's 3.7L, and it's super rare. maybe gonna sell 2-3 a year. but u can ask r3kahstub in this forum. he brought the car to vw TT a few times, havent got chance to taxi ride tho.

Also the e90 320d cant be 80k, current owners love their ride so its hard to see they selling. And that should make the price goes up

Not spongy. Not enough distance from min to max braking. It feels like an ON/OFF affair.

Anyways it's the lady friend's car, so as usual I'm tasked with fixing it or finding solutions to it.

*
you mean it is not progressive? mine on stock brakes, feels the same. after SSBH it gives less spongy feel, but the on off is kinda there still.

was considering a cheaper mk5 but when i went to see the cars.
aiyo interior so ugly compare to mk6.
coz for me even mk6 isn't space age looking enough for me since i am a civic fd owner.
30% i sure buy  drool.gif

agree that MK5 interior looks dated. i think an RCD510 radio can do some wonders. anyways, dont let the outlook let u down, try to test drive first. many change their minds after test driving any vw brows.gif

rattles will arrive soon lol. and reliabilitywise you cannot conclude from the short test drive. must do those 1 year test like in UK one tongue.gif
anyways.. VW does not come with run flats. the one you drove is equipped with 17 or 18"?
and yes the boot is huge.... i drive a hatch so any sedan boot will appear large to me

Guys, am currently looking at a used MK6 Golf GTI. Found a 2011 unit for about RM155k (before negotiation) with full VW service records and warranty until 2016. Are there any specific issues I need to look at? I presume since there are still warranty available any car should be okay so long as it has not been through any accident and price is okay?

Clutch pack and coils can be replaced for free anytime under service at SC if they fail right?
*
upgrading from e46 325i?

yes both can covered under warranty. coils will cause misfire and is simple to replace, clutch pack is more major, usually DSG7 with the 1.2/1.4 easier to fail

And to those of you who wants to buy a VW for performance...please get a Golf gti. PLEASE DONT GET A POLO GTI unless you are desperate to feel an under 8 sec km century dash and dont mind putting up with all the dry clutch problems in Asia...

If you can get an 'R' then spend your money on a Megane RS 250 cup.
If all else fails and you still need a speed fix...get a Mk5 (2008) with oil cooler(tropicalised) for 130 k...
*
and the 2.0TFSI has much more potential too. havent heard much power upgrade for the polo gti other than the race chip.. which brings the stock 169whp to around 180whp

oil cooler? what do you mean? havent heard oil cooler mod yet for mk5/6 gti...

im probably the only one still driving mk5? still love it biggrin.gif and the mods are still ongoing

Yeap! Time to move on to another German make. smile.gif Anyway, plan to send the car for a check before placing the deposit with a used car dealer. Is the SC willing to conduct a full check on the car despite me not being the owner yet or I will have to send it to somewhere else? Any recommendations? Does the SC checks the car for any accidents?
*
2011 unit, is it the SE version with 18", RCD510 etc? mileage?

if the warranty is there... should be no issues...... do check your engine oil once in a while.. not too sure if SC are willing to check at used car dealer
do join us at vwclubmalaysia.net come for TT for guidance and poisons

it is considerably faster than a 325i brows.gif the power delivery is much more in your face than linear NA.

QUOTE(Mavik @ Apr 15 2013, 06:08 PM)
Really? I always thought that the EA888 engine had more potential compared to the EA113 engine. Especially if you take both Mk5 and Mk6 GTI, a simple stage 1 and the dyno figures show the EA888 can push close to 240whp. Even if comparing a stage 3 EA113 engine and a stage 3 EA888 engine, the EA888 engine can easily surpass the 300whp mark.
*
Yes i know already that ea888 walks all over the ea113 when it comes to dyno. Was comparing 2.0 with 1.4 potentialwise.
Maybe i should say 2.0tsi instead?
Ea113 not too bad since the R's are using it with k04.

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Apr 15 2013, 02:38 PM)
I think you can send in to authorised SC to check. Another important one will be stock ECU. If mapped, any future warranty related to engine/gearbox maybe void. If not confident, send in 2x SC to confirm the ECU. Try ask for written report that ECU is not mapped or touched before.

Although it is GTI and 6-speed wet DSG, if one day the engine fails, and you need to claim warranty, SC says, "sorry, mapped ECU void warranty"
icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Ok la the dsg6 is quite reliable.. Warranty should be ok.. Many service advisors out there.. Sure not all will deny the warranty... Heard some stuffs going on
