lol no, it just got rid of annoying campers. Levolution aims to change how a map plays. Like in paracel storm, heavy storm affects waves then the warship crashing to the island changes the map layout. Shanghai you have the shutters in D, the skyscraper, taking down pillar support making the road cave in to cripple tanks. In flood zone, only thing we know of now is the flood

In BF3 there's no levolution effect, just u can destroy buildings/towers and such.
Mostly ppl will play in SG servers, use the filter option and look for 32/64 players server and have fun!

You decide whether need or not. If you don't have Expansion 1, you cannot play on maps that require Expansion 1.. and any unlockable weapons you get from that particular Expansion. As a new player, I recommend you wait it out till at least 2nd DLC (u get 1st DLC free if you preorder) and decide whether you wanna buy premium/expansion separately

Yes and No. For BF3 I cannot say as I didn't buy premium/any expansion but if you filter your server browser to include other expansions, you'll be able to see the server hosting what maps
