Yes, to unlock attachments, you have to use the weapon; or unlock through weapon battlepacks or the tiered battlepacks

not necessary weapon, support also helps, such as ammo kit, medikit, spot target, lock target with bino,

It is good to help spot target by press Q, even if u cant reach it, or cant kill it, u still get point when others kill it.
I found that a lot player lack ability to press Q to helps other teammates to better strategy their attack.

that's a good habit, hope more ppl to be like you.
I suck at using guns, so I usually support from behind or in an armored vehicle.
