I always use Smart Screen On Lite. The proximity sensor also always on. No problem so far.

Okay... i tik i gona tried you app since it can turn off the sensor after some time
*
Sorry, what I meant is that I believe the sensor is always on and I'm not sure if it does turn off after some time.

I can only notice it obviously when I'm in the dark.

Sorry for the confusion.

Just wandering, does the cell standby in the battery usage collum increases due to this? As mine shows 40% which is a large sum..
*
I think it's not related.

For the apps that I'm using, it'll show as a separate entry in the battery usage info.

it does .. because your proximity kept running even thought screen is off which is also standby time
*
Cell standby is only capturing cell radio activity.

I have a damaged sd card. Formatting it will do? Is this caused by directory bind?
*
Logically damaged then you can perform formatting to mark that sector(s) as unusable.

If it's physically damaged, it won't help.
