Seriously suprised nobody mentioned this

In ure router change dtim from 1 to 3. That will give u 3 times more battery saving so u lost 13. Now should be arnd 3-4.

go into ure router config.

find beacon interval and dtim

default beacon interval is at 100 with dtim at 1.
Try changing the dtim to 3.this is like a sleep wake up interval rate for ure devices. Increasing this will give u more savings on battery. 2-3 is recommended. Again every network is different so u need to mess with this over time and get the best. Some routers run at lower beacon interval of 50 but with dtim of 1. U will only notice dtim value difference on power saving devices especially handhelds, laptops on battery with power saving , ipads etc.

Currently for me i am running beacon interval of 50 with dtim 3. This gives me the best performance, streaming, consistent downloads, wake function, device search over network ( printer , NAS etc ) with the best power saving.

Mess with it .

Yea i am using around 40% brightness as well, but due to i am constanly using 3G and wifi is always off, so my ipad will consume more energy compared to those who use wifi only.

If u have extra $, try to sell ur ipad 2 and get the new ipad  whistling.gif

Guys, my iPad3 is recently having this 5% battery drop issue while in sleep with airplane mode without any Apps running. I've calibrated it by depleting the batt till it got off itself then recharge back to full. Any of u experience this? Strange it's always 5% drop.

this happen to in the early but now back to normal, try to think back what have you change before it drop 5%,

below is the some senerio can be droppping yr battery %

1.if you put yr ipad under hot environment
2.Do you do any changes on yr router( beacon interval ).
3.have you install any app about saving up the battery,if yes uninstall it

you must be do something recently to make yr ipad 3 losing battery

retrieve yr memory

disable notifications of unimportant apps, disable location services too for those not required.. this could help a lot save battery

For example I noticed whenever I get an email, the screen lights up for a few seconds.. so I disabled that and voila fixed it for me smile.gif
