Bro, 50Hz or 60 Hz are the signal frequency. To output the signal to the TV, the source video and the output device must synchronize with same frequency. Anyhow, today LCD tv are capable to auto adjust the frequency according to the source signal, basically just set your LCD tv to auto.

By the way, my Android TV at the above thread is running 1080p 60Hz.

Steven, for your information. Android TV out in the market earlier than Apple TV. Android OS has been widely used in many products such as smart projector, digital signage, car navigator, kitchen automation equipment and etc because it's open source. Actually both Apple and Android are not the pioneer, Media Player has been running on Linux OS since many years ago to watch digital movie via USB and Browsing Internet. The advantages of Android TV and Apple TV is there are ready entertainment Apps available such as PPS, PPTV, YouKu and etc.

Please check because it is a deal breaker for some. And do check the CPU frequency because we don't want things like Allwinner A10 fiasco.

No prob bro. Have replied your PM.

BTW, as far as I know AMLogic 8726-M (at 65nm manufacturing process) is only able to crank up to 800MHz. Any link to info on AMLogic 8726-M cranking at 1GHz? Thank you in advance.

I'm sure everyone would love to see a dual core solution for this device. Hope you can bring it here.

Totally agree with you, EP4Man. Very friendly service from asking for quotation, postage, all the way to after sales service.

Seller also kind enough to send a QUICK GUIDE to assist me in getting the device setup.

About the player:

1. Wireless connection using unifi and while viewing pps is not stable for me (maybe too far from my wifi router). Wired connection works best for me currently.

2. The built in Movie player plays all type of files, RMVB, RMVB 720p, mkv (even for files larger than 16gb).

3. Ample of Video streaming apps, including pps, qvod, Kascend..etc...(speaking of QVOD, anyone has good web address for qvod suitable for malaysian?)

anyway, Recommend Seller and Player, for those who wants a android based media player and with online video streaming apps.

To those who own this media player, any recommended games to install? as most of the games in google play are suitable for touch screen interface.

Thank you for your inquiry. If not mistaken, the newly launch Samsung S3 still running ICS 4.0 as the upgrade required tedious development, customization and testing. Therefore the change of upgrade to 4.1 might be low. Anyhow, we will keep you inform as soon as the factory release 4.1.

Thank you bro. Because the multi core CPU price still high and the Android TV is new in the market, therefore the manufacturers are still targeting entry level and middle-end buyer. Most of the manufacturer still build base on cost effective CPU. I could not estimate when the dual core version will be released, but I promise to inform you as soon as I knew about it.

Hi,

I would like to post my feedback here. Bought one from Nicety, it works as what it claims. In general, my views are as follows:

1. PPS.TV, IMDB and YouTube work flawless
2. PPTV, Youku etc don't work as you expected
3. Programs keep asking you to update, but you can't update it as if u do it, u won't be able to watch the shows anymore
4. You can't use the search engine under PPS.TV
5. It can play 1080p, but the picture quality is just so so, cannot compete with sigma chips, eg. Dune Hd players

Thank you.

Thank you bro for the feedback. PPS is peer to peer streaming, as more users in Malaysia as smooth the online video. PPTV and Youku are loose compare to PPS because the user community is too small in the region. For those interested with latest HK TVB movies, PPS is more than enough.

Hi, best price included shipping to Kajang ?

& i want to know, the video output only in hdmi ? planning to use on a old TV without hdmi input..
can i use my pc become media server then stream my movies from pc to your device ?

thanks ~
*
Thank you for inquiry bro.

There is AV output for you to connect to old TV, you just need and AV cable with single jack.

There are many apps available in GoolePlay that allow you to access PC files from your Android device, but you have to setup the shared folder in your Windows 7 as per below link.

Have tested until 15GB mkv files, 32GB MKV no chance to test yet.

15GB files tested flawlessly and without lagging. However to be noted Android TV is not same as conventional media player, it has the flexibility to install Google Apps which traditional media player could not do. The selling points is not the playing the offline movies but running the apps and online streaming.

Ordered the Android box from nicety last week. It was delivered to me the following
day. Very prompt delivery! Have been using it for the past few days. Watched loads of TVB dramas via PPS.TV .Ran smoothly without problems (am on unifi 5mb).
For those who follow the latest hong kong tvb drama this device is a gem. Of course it can also be used as a internet browser. Can also download lots of android apps.
The android box is stable and does not "hang" . By the way i was never an android user all these while
Thanks nicety for for this great device. A great seller indeed..... Highly recommended rclxms.gif

Tested the YouTube app version 3.5 to be working. Thanks a lot.
It is suprising that the newer version released by Google crashes so badly.

How about the Google Play Music? The latest version also crashes.
Any known working version also?

Thank you for inquiry. The Android TV is similar to Android phone except do not have the phone function and your TV screen become the Android screen. You could install Android apps from Google play, browse Internet, email, Facebook as well as watch PPS TV online. No need to download movies any more, stream the PPS directly online. Pls feel free to pm me of you have further question.

Yes, there is two USB host, you could connect wire or wireless keyboard. To be noted that Android build in virtual keyboard, if you do not need much data entry, the virtual keyboard is sufficient.

Thank you WK, is great you have tested the USB hub. Are you using passive or active usb hub? Active USB hub come with power adaptor.

Personally I did not test the USB hub because of bad past experience with another player.

Sorry bro, currently we do not dare to import MK808 because of bad comment about mk808.
Pls refer to below link :

In fact, new processors and new OS would need some time to stable.

Sorry bro, just typical wireless mouse.

As I know, standard Android OS do not have remote access function. Anyhow, you have triggered very good idea, I will check if remote access apps available for Android such as VNC, PCAnywhere and etc. I need to explore this before answer you.

File sharing and streaming is not a problem just need the appropriate apps.

Thank you for inquiry. The CPU is 8726-M3 as mentioned in the thread.

Just to be noted that selection factor of Android TV box is not the CPU speed, the most important is the stability of the CPU running on the stable android OS. Don't be over impress by the specification due to competition among the SoC manufacturer. As you know those china TV box manufacturer are very small, some manufacturer just release the product with latest CPU without proper testing.
If your purpose is to explore new technology then it is ok to look for latest CPU. If your purpose is to have good entertainment box, I would advise you to buy a stable and reliable Android box which has been tested properly.

You are right.. even the new rockchip 3066 dual core processor on mk808 only showing 1024x720 resolution according to Antutu.. it is streched when showing 1920x1080p.. for normal usage just like heavy weekend/midnight movie, web browsing and light games does this player suffice? and the display is not stretched as mk808?

Thank you bro, if your purpose is just as you mentioned above the player will be more then sufficient.

I have been contact mk808 manufacturer, they have admitted the problem in JB and the screen stretching. This is what I mean the product release with latest CPU and latest OS version, but the risk of having bugs.

Pls allow me to ask another question if you don't mind, are you watching movies from PPS or downloaded movies? Among the online streaming Apps, the only working apps with smooth streaming in Malaysia is PPS because the peer to peer community is big enough.

If you watch movies from download files then definitely no problem.

mostly downloaded movies.. n I will venture in PPS also.. anyway thumbs up for good product thumbup.gif Definitely one of my interest list.. hope to that I can purchase this product soon smile.gif

The limitation of PPS is the language. The entire PPS is using Chinese character no English, if you could not read Chinese then you might have problem to use PPS. Beside PPS, IceStream is not bad with English language and English movies only, but need to download before watch. IceStream will be preinstalled in the player.

Thank you bro. HiShare is the apps developed by HiMEDIA, the HIShare receiver is pre-install in the hardware. However, you could goto Google Play Store down the app called AirPlay/DLNA Receiver, it do the same as HiShare. You can share the files and video from your Smart Phone or Tablet to your Android TV.

If you would like to share PC files and manage from your PC browser, you may try AirDroid from the Google Play, but the ScreenCast does not work because it required rooted devices.

Hi PM best price to Shah Alam please.

Currently have a Buffalo NAS at home. How do you play files in the NAS? Using DLNA or direct streaming over TCP/IP?

Thank you for your inquiry bro.

There is free ES Explorer apps where you can access the NAS server via Samba, NFS or Windows Shared folder. Beside NAS, it support cloud storage such as Dropbox and SkyDrive. Pls explorer further from the below link.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...droid.pop&hl=en

There is DLNA receiver for Android Lite version and proffesional version. The lite version play well for photos, but video streaming is not as good as prof version.

So in order to play the files in the NAS, the android box would need to install ES Explorer from Playstore? From there on, the android box would recognize the file type and play the files accordingly?

I could preinstall the ES Explorer for you if you want, the android will auto detect the media files. If you have more than one player apps, it will prompt you to select.

For NAS, I recommend using vplayer upnp apps. Set the NAS media server to enable. The player support most format, except subtitle (srt).

Thank you bro for the info sharing, I am not sure Buffalo NAS support media server, but generally all NAS support Samba and NFS. ES explorer is straight forward to access without configuration at NAS server.

However if the NAS support media server, it will be added advantage to explore media streaming instead of file sharing.

I'm actually using buffalo linkstation NAS. Just make sure wi-fi is fast enough for streaming, else will get lag especially when fast forward. All Share apps and also Vplayer will sometimes unable to find shared file (maybe apps got bug) but ES explorer got no problem at all.

I agreed with you bro, the problem could be the apps or the media server daemon. Samba and NFS protocol has been used in UNIX/LINUX environment long history already, the stability and efficiency within the LAN is better than DLNA.

Btw, please don't have high expectation for buffalo nas. It is slow. Even slower when multiple user access the nas at the same time, up to a point even sd video will lag.

Actually, processor speed not the most important factor. I've tried running xbmc on a raspberry pi with only 750mhz processor playing full hd movie and it works fine. Just make sure the hardware/software support audio passthrough because decoding hd audio takes a lot of cpu power.

Yes, you can watch live tv from PPTV and other apps. Are you refer to which TV channels? Asia or Western?

Western TV always some challenge due to license infringement..

The live sport are also due to license infringement, could not easily get. But you can Google more about Sopcast and xBMC live sport which could be install in Android. You can test the apps via your Android phone as well.
