how bout something like these? smile.gif

The platforms just a rectangle make it too boxy for me and I think will make the bed look like taking too much space in the room. But that's just what I think smile.gif

If sunken in, when time to change bedsheet very jialat as need to bend down very low and dig the matress out.
Just imagine, the frame is low, the sunken part is tight  rclxub.gif

Just go to any furniture shop and show your japanese bed picture. They will quote for you the custom made bed frame. Furniture shop have contact on the carpenter doing bed frame. Try ask several furniture shop and compare the prices.

Thanks for the advise, but one issue would be not knowing at all the quality of the final product. At least here, can get some feedback (although admittedly it will not be guaranteed to be good as well).

If the shop has an actual model of the bed you want on display then at least that is a good gauge but that is hard to find.
For bedframe, I personally think that these 2 shop has the widest range displayed.
MFO - especially the PJ branch
Harvey Norman - Ikano Power Center.

If you really want to have the widest choice, other than custom made, then bed mattress catalogue is your best bet.

Good Luck hunting. icon_rolleyes.gif

One thing to consider though...if married and wife is pregnant, low frame bed will be a problem.

Yeah, but if he/ she is custom making it, the height shall be considered.

I advise not to use this kind of bed for married young couples.
1. pregnant lady too bulky to climb ontop or leave the bed.
2. The frame is bulky.
3. Dangerous points.
4. If you kick it, there goes your nail.

Divan is like a flat base. My mattress is not moving at all.
Mattress itself already weigh like sh*t.
Actually i pick the divan type becoz when i kicked it, it doesn't hurt that much.
And yes, I always ter-kick

Does anybody know where to find similar bed design as below (the frame only)? Or if anybody can custom build it, how much will it be?

Thank you.

I'm looking for this kind of bed frame as well. Anybody knows a carpenter who does this? Thanks!
