This is my custom display cabinet...5ft wide x 5ft long....suspended on wall...
The glass is 8mm with 3 and a half ft long and 1ft deep....
Its supported by small rubbery pins which is thats bout it....heard from my contractor only can support max 2kg per shelf...adui....2kg I can't even put my mark 1 - 6
Wow, 2kg, ur contractor is definitely irresponsible to think that one would put items with less than 2kg per shelf in such a huge display case. From the look of the pic, the materials used to build this isn't that great either. Anyway, I have a glass display in which the glass itself is 6mm thick, 2 1/2 ft long, and 1 1/2 ft deep. Currently is capable of supporting at least 40kg worth of statues. Hope the entire case didn't cost u more than 3k to build. Maybe u could contact ur contractor and ask him/her where he/she had the glass build and the consult the glass builder on the max support weight. Worst come to worst, u just need to rebuild the glass shelf. The glass is 8mm with 3 and a half ft long and 1ft deep....
