Didn't u show your contractor what u want to put in? He sud make it to support ur collectibles. Glass probably u can add another piece on top to thicken it but I'm afraid your hanging cabinet can not support the load after u put in your statue.
Another way that u can check wif ur contractor is to add legs at bottom to support.

What you need is these brackets .... get the contractor to install these. These can really take a lot of weight. Ugh yea my mmistaken too...I was so focus on the adjustable heights of my pf's and hot toys I forgot bout the weight...so now the thing is ...its nailed dead to the wall and I'm not sure whether my contractor is willing to come back to modify my base....I think most likely he cuci tangan already....
Anyone knows where I can find other custom furniture that do small modifying like this?
I don't mind to pay tho....else alternative is get a BESTA and put it side by side....

These days contractors are very greedy and lazy, if they think too small a job ie less margin, they dun even bother.Same with electricians, plumbers, etc.
And to hear market is bad these days, pfffft
Good luck with your cabinet, maybe you can decorate it with small collectibles instead.

From the look of the pic, the materials used to build this isn't that great either. Anyway, I have a glass display in which the glass itself is 6mm thick, 2 1/2 ft long, and 1 1/2 ft deep. Currently is capable of supporting at least 40kg worth of statues. Hope the entire case didn't cost u more than 3k to build. Maybe u could contact ur contractor and ask him/her where he/she had the glass build and the consult the glass builder on the max support weight. Worst come to worst, u just need to rebuild the glass shelf.

Think the problem is not the glass thickness. The glass is too long and there's not enough support in the middle parts ie. 2 pegs at the back are not going to hold the middle weights. Like I mentioned before, just get the metal brackets for middle part should be enough, even though it will not be nice looking but up to owner.
