dun think so

most bike shop won't allow you to test ride a brand new bike, unless you are quite known to them

at most, you can just sit on the bike i guess

unless you are buying 2nd hand...
*
even used bike is not allow for unknown test drive, cause simple fall will cost hundred for repairt (fairing ++)

Custom suits@ MotostyleStore is made of cowhide and stitchings are alright. I have seen their work - it is neither bad nor best. My rule of thumb is that I would only go for something customized unless I would not be able to find something off the rack.

Depends on luck actually - I have heard horror stories but most are pleasant ones. Personally I have tried hand carrying them from Singapore (via LCCT) and Hong Kong (via KLIA). At both occasions I got through by just breezing through without the need to scan my bags upon exit.

In addition to SonnyCool's reply:
1. I wanted to keep the box - so I fold them neat and tight into my check-in luggage. I am on business travels most of the time, so space is a plenty
2. Singapore, I brought my Bagster tailbag along and hand carry the helmet through - not so suspicious
3. Hong Kong, I just put it into the helmet bag as I did not bring the tailbag. Put alongside my carry ons and roll through the customs

Depending which airlines and destination you are flying - always check if it is within their safety regulation if you can hand carry the helmet into the aircraft. Otherwise, you got to check it in. It may sound stupid, but prevention is better than arguing with safety policies and procedures.

If you ever get stop - based on the customs rule book, we are subjected to 15% tax if I recall correctly. If you do not have the proof of purchase, they will search using their means using the retail price they could find. A cheaper alternative is to buy your way out. Personally, I have not tried this and hopeful enough I do not need to. So do it at your own risk.
*
if box, protector sticker n manual is together, the chance u pay tax is higher .....
for me, i always post my box, manual . . . .

QUOTE(T600 @ Aug 20 2012, 08:05 PM)
Perfectly possible with FI bikes, it is just bloody difficult! for some 1000cc four cylinders you have to push over 15kph++, better ask a buddy to help you.. do just like what Sanosizo mentioned, key in and ON, 2nd gear, push the bike and pop the clutch..

If your bike is FI and battery is completely dead then you can't push start it, when you turn the key on you can hear some whining noise, that's it, it is pumping fuel, no electricity then no pumping fuel lol..

Push starting is actually not a good thing to do, it put some stress on the gearbox and clutch, so next time do not let your battery die lol smile.gif

You can jump start your bike with a car, but make sure the car's engine is not running, it is risky and if I were you I will just get a charger/ battery tender..

Whatever you do please becareful.
*
actually is very easy, u don't need the speed to jump start but u need right movement, first gear will be impossible, second is kind of hard for small size person with big bike, then third gear is best but it a lot speed n clutch pumping ....

A bit unclear in the video: when do we release the clutch to get the engine starting? Can't see the hand when he pushes the bike past the camera...
*
when u feel the bike on momentum , realise clutch -> the bike will jerk -> hold clutch again -> rev (if start) .....
basically it use clutch to free ur bike (for moving), engage gear is to move ur engine to start smile.gif

first gear is abit hard, cause when u release clutch, it will stop ur bike completely, second gear will be easier, jerk -> move -jerk-move- start smile.gif
third gear u need faster speed, cause the jerk will be less smile.gif

modify till like this. everyone will look at you
*
that HD, easily cost u another bike, look at it, complete custom subframe change to softail type . . . . cheaper way is softail + heartlanes kit, but that still cost 20-30k mod .....

QUOTE(sanosizo @ Aug 22 2012, 07:54 PM)
I do have a question for hd guys.

You guys ride motorcycle with very loud engine, mostly equipped with half helmet on. Together with wind noise, how do you cope with all the noises? There's no concern on hearing damages at all?
*
Old day cab hd is all about sound, ride n enjoying super long store but ride quality is really bad, one long distance trip, atleast few missing screw smile.gif

+ when riding, sound is behind, not front, so no worry, unless u following another bike . . . ..

QUOTE(ELM0 @ Aug 22 2012, 10:51 PM)
haha but cant get the superbike sound from the urban bikes anymore
*
can even a simple bike like versys 1000 (<70k) still provide u same sound, just current trend is everyone look n wanna sound like conti (ducati, ktm) ......

Agree almost everyone will go for speed n power, but after long experience with bike, u find it speed ain't everything,
passion on building n riding = HD, most chopper.
Long distance ride RT, Goldwing, ST 1300, cruiser
top speed : haya, zx14
street handling : naked, er6n, street fighter
handling n race most r version or sport bike,
adventures GS, ktm adventures, super tenere n so on

so choose ur own category . . . .
