QUOTE(wtm0325 @ Jan 22 2006, 06:11 PM) Heat problem for notebooks nowadays are treated as normal, thus notebook cooler become essential. DIY cooler is still best for long hours notebook usage as they hv the best cooling effect.
Objective: To achieve cost effective cooler for 24hours long usage downloadingNotebook- Acer TravelMate 2303LCi, Finished Made on Feb 2005 » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Material Used n Cost: 3x 8cm fan = FOC (spoil psu) wood= FOC (from my relatives) adapter= FOC (found inside my house) TOTAL - FOC
Performance Nvr thought of cooling the heat part directly, only planned to arrange to fan to cool the whole bottom. the fan position is incorrect for hdd, still runs hot when BT at high speed... other parts r cooled very well, n the fan speed is adjustable through adapter, cons very bulky and heavy, yet noisy somehow Notebook- Acer TravelMate 2303LCi, Finished Made on Feb 2006 » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Material Used & Cost: 2x 12cm fan - RM13 each arcylic casing - RM20 red color rubber tube - RM4 adapter - RM10 TOTAL - RM60
Performance Learned from mistake which cooling is not neccessary for every bottom part. use 12cm fan to draw larger heat area while achieving same performance and less noise. 100% cooling effective compare to the cooler outside, the fan position is just under the heat area, all are cooled very well n very silent, cons is it's still bulky but less weight Notebook- Compaq V3010AU, Finished Made on July 2006 » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Material Used & Cost: 12cm fan - RM13 arcylic casing - RM15 red color rubber tube n screws - RM5 adapter = RM10 TOTAL - RM43
Performance Give up USB notebook cooler idea to save one more port for other usage. 100% cooling effective compare to outside cooler, silent, lighter, n lower cost. cons is still not as portable 3rd party cooler, proc and gc cant be cooled well no matter where the fan position is, suspect the interior design of the notebook
 ever done using plate steel?
