I'm a daily user of Smart Tag. Went thru 3 generation of tags. Don't let the other scares you on the battery life. If it drained battery within couple of months or less, garantee the smart tag or the battery spoil liao. Change batt, if still same, tag spoiled. One of reason for battery kaput very dast  is those leaving on windscreen stand, etc under hot sun, sure battery drain MUCH faster.

A single 9V battery will last abt 12 months for me. I use it every working day, 4 ~ 5 tolls daily. Which silly bugger goes to unplug batt and plug everytime to use, crazy.

I don't put tag or any sign of tag on the windscreen, takut pecah cermin, it happens to lots of ppl.

Everytime I hold tag when near toll. If feel silly, put the tag on you dashboard although it might slip or scratch them.....holding will be safer in any case. You won't feel silly coz LOTS of smart tags veteran actually hold their tag and slip it back under their compartment upon usage. Also by holding and keeping it back to compartment, it won't be exposed to direct sunlight heat, battery will last way longer.

mine also can last for quite some time. and when need to use i just put on the antislip rubber on the dashboard and put back to drawer after done. for the battery, can try go daiso buy, RM5 1 pack got 2 9v battery smile.gif

Thanks guys. It's reassuring to know it'll last relatively longer.

Agree..setakat nie tidak ada muka owner yg berani tunjuk muka...luahkan dalam berita or paper..just snap the picture with paper...alooo...crazy people like that....any car have problem...sama ada human error atau part error....that why proton or another company bg warranty...mana ada company yg tidak bg warranty...use car pun bg 1bulan la...
*
Siapa kata tak ade customer tunjuk muka? please try to search the video of MD Showroom case...
They even ask them to report police if there are dares enough...

Please QC your car better before deliver to your customer...

So many ppl support Proton because they see improvement of Proton to built Preve...

End up....ppl dissappointed because you advertised and give ppl too high hope...

Even vendor also have probs with you...

All the Preve supporter here hope to get a better car quality...

add a side note, my salesman gave me the smart tag, he claims, already few months bought it in bulk, so the battery may already depleted.

i put in the driver's side compartment. so when near toll, take out and hold it, sometimes holding it facing the wrong side. lol...

never stick on windscreen and put on dash, anyway, the smartag size quite similar with singapore's ERP IU.

new ERP IU...

That reminds me of the first few times using it. Thought I had to face the lcd to the scanner above. Lucky I was at empty lane at Latar & Genting. Otherwise if got any car behind me, sure kena horn by them.

Like it is locked in too tight, then when you open the door it just 'pops'?

Mine is like that as well after putting in the rubber.

I think Arthur means he installed too much rubber lining till it's difficult to close the door. When he opens, the door would sort of bounces/springs out.

Don't think it's air tight. Just too tight or too little clearance between metal and rubber.

the door is closed by clinging metal to metal right, when u open from inside or outside, imagine two metal clinging to each other so tight, the seconds you un-cling both of the metal...that kind of burst la....

yes, something similar....instead of pops, imagine metal with metal releasing each other sound...

dun think so, i didnt put too much rubber, only use Big D...follow whatever stickymat's post shown...didnt add additional rubber at doors...

for example, if the picture shows only put rubber at edge of doors, so i just put one line of rubber at edge of doors, wont put two lines of rubber at edge of doors...

the only additional rubber i put is in A pillar front door gap, that's all...
i thinks using big D makes the door even tighter...
