I have a weird question to ask you guys. I put mineral water bottles (those 500mL ones) in my car. I park my car under the sun at work. So, after maybe about 3 weeks or 1 month is the water still safe to drink?

Puasa time my mind seem to ask weird questions....
*
@.@

if the bottle didn't come into direct contact with sunlight, should be still safe to drink.

QUOTE(mat79 @ Jul 25 2012, 09:57 PM)
hi guys, sorry to hear on some problems that u guys have to endure, hopefully it will be solved asap.

Reading previously some discussion on tyres. Imho, if u look for tyre replacements, want to change to a better want, if money no object, look up those tyres that get rating traction double A, or AA at the sidewall.

It means that the tyre will give better wet traction compare to traction rating A, B or C. Normally, many tyres are rated A n B. A are better than B, but AA is the best.

Dry traction not much differ, unless u r driving n taking corners beyond speed limit or beyond standard traction.

Just share some info. Hopefully this help u guys when want to replace tyres or upcoming future changes.

If during cold start, suddenly press on thottle, n suddenly the rpm went crazy, i think its related to clutch not been oiling enough. To prevent it, whether to let the cvt warm up for a while or, let it creep naturally first without any throttle input until rpm raise beyond 1k rpm naturally n press the throttle.

For better thottle response, rev beyond 1.6k rpm from idle coz it will be on crawl mode until 1.6krpm to assist parking and crawling when searching for parking, that is when the torque reduction happened.  unless u already on the move n tcu detect or sense that u r not crawling then then it start to free the torque.

If u let it creep naturally, wait until rev raise beyond 1k rpm naturally then apply throttle, u will feel the throttle is almost lag free or instant compare to apply throttle instantly after release the footbrake coz it takes time to the clutch to fully released. Hope this help to better understand the cvt character of punch cvt. Bye.

dun bye.

come back

At the dashboard, near the ac vent.  I removed the things from the bottom compartment just to be sure, and it is originating from the dashboard.

this one have to go SC to solve edi.

It happens all the time, or only during sepcific driving condition (ie: whena ccelerating at 2,000 rpm)?

Usually during accelerating, and going over uneven bumps.

Normal service centre can solve? Im staying in subang, so planning to go to the one in ss 14 there.

So thats why i asked if can walk in to cose early in the morning? Or still need appoinment?
*
you can walk into CoSE early in the morning, but they will not put your car as a priority. Expect a delay for your service. FYI, taking off the entire dashboard for a Proton persona takes around 45 minutes. For the Preve, might be longer due to the more complicated moldings.

Even if you do appointment now, be prepared to go there only after Raya, since they will be fully booked to the brim for the whole three weeks. sleep.gif

Oh dem.

Well ill try my luck to book tomorrow. The sound is really annoying.

Anyways, my list of complints would be;

1) mounting not tight, so engine vibrates more.

2) jerking like manual car when slowing down.

3) sluggigh gear, esp during revesing.

4) wind noise at the c pillar.
*
for no 2, it is the characteristic of the CVT especially when it is still new. Give it a couple of run in and it will jerk less.

Does Preve has clutch calibration like the Honda City start clutch calibration?

http://www.hondafitjazz.com/manual/A00/HTM...6881BBAT00.HTML

That is the Honda shop manual for Fit. Anyone know whether Preve is similar especially the "Calibration Procedure with Driving the Vehicle" section?
*
I cant confirm that, coz I have no expertise in the service part.

Hi, i have the same problem of jerking. That is extremely uncomfortable and annoying. Any idea it needs how long to run in the cvt? Mind is around 3200++ milleage now.
It is just jerk less instead of "missing"?
*
just drive lo. as the milege accumulates, the jerking will be lesser, probably due to the ecu and tcu has learn your driving style.

smile.gif  well, thanks bro! do u drive exec cvt or premium? I am worry about the more automatic system in the car, the more easier to get more problem to fix..

since no one talking about the exec cvt and very hardly there is a test drive unit available in showroom, i cant decide it, i really wish to know about the exec cvt, i asked a few SA, they keep persuade me to buy premium. For exec auto, Im not sure is it underpower or not, coz if i dun wan to drive a turtle up genting or slope.
*
for sure it wont be a turtle up genting or a slope since there's always "S" for it.

Only during pick up 0-40kph, it feels lethargic. But once the momentum kicks in at around 2,300 rpm, it will begin to surge forward. Hitting 180 isnt a problem. Takes a long time to reach 200 though.

Therefore, if your daily life doesn't involve racing on the road, then it is a good choice. Furthermore, the IAFM engine has no major issues, as evidence has shown in the past from the inception of IAFM engine in the Saga in 2008, till the IAFM+ engine in 2011 in the Saga FLX.

i own a premium one. for exec auto, i really cannot answer your question. but in my opinion, you would not be a turtle going up a slope. Maybe sligthly faster due to "s" mode

Need otai to answer your question. but what i can see is, it would be slower than current auto persona when climbing hill. you can check at proton edar website. persona torque over weight is 148/1195 = 0.124 while exec preve is 150/1325 = 0.113. Both of these ratio at its peak of 4000 rpm for both of cars. These are in normal d mode however.

Try to drive a persona auto. and if you feel it is already slow, then do not even bother to buy exec preve, because it will be much more slower due to additional weight.  nod.gif

There is "s" mode which you can choose during hill climb. That would prevent you from being a turtle there.
*
you didn't factor in transmission type in your analogy. Normal torque converter 4 speed auto will be susceptible to gear hunting and in the persona's case, it will be very eager to drop a gear everytime the throttle is applied then upshifts in the midst of climbing rclxub.gif.

for the CVT however, there's downhill and uphill recognition mode. When the CVT detects there is an uphill slope, it will actually shorten its ratio automatically and the engine will rev a bit higher to aid uphill climb. Then there's always the option to pull it to 4,000 rpm and stay there, which is its optimum torque point but at the expense of fuel consumption.

Wrong way la.

The Preve CFE is so awesome, you sit inside the car you will automatically thumbs-up. Then just use your thumb to press the start button.

A thumb will never give as much satisfaction as a finger. Hence it is called 'fingering'.

is it 0-40 will feel lethargic for exec auto only?  blink.gif

well, to be honest, even an Alphard with 2.4L engine feels a bit slow off the line. This is particularly due to the safety equipments, toys and gadgets and other comfort materials such as sound deadening which carries weight. like those kampung people say, jalan dulu sebelum lari. Thats why these cars also is the same, have to "walk" first before can properly "run".
