All gardening sifus, anyone?

want to ask all garden sifus here....

my housing area is an ex oil palm estate and the earth is yellow solid hard earth....

The earth is so hard that it retains water each time it rains... the color of the earth is yellow...

i have try to plant many types of plant on thw ground but it just wont grow...

when i dig down the earth, there is no insect or watsoever on the ground... no earthworm, no critters nothing....

besides the old oil palm trees surronding the housing area, we would like to plant some fruit or vegetable on the ground but it just wont grow...

we have try about 6 years now and have google lots of information but still fail to grow anything...

anyone know what type of fruit and vege is sutable for these soil conditions??

we are placing pots and growing from the pots but the result is dissapointing...

any idea anyone??

huh?? have to buy good soil to replace the natural earth??

sure expensive then?? if i dig a big hole and replace it with import earth.... things will be costly for a tree!!!

Any plants suitable in these solid hard yellow earth conditions???

Anybody got advice on growing and maintaining anisomeles indica (catmint/茉草). It's a plant that my mom uses for superstition purposes 😅. But I kinda like the smell of it and its a natural mosquito repellent. So far it seems to thrive in bad soil such as construction rubble pile but not very good in a pot..

anybody know where to buy a normal top soil? i find that the pre-packed organic soil that is sold on the market are not good especially the black soil. it will clog the pot when watering. currently im planting mango tree in the pot. chokanan and harum manis. the chokanan already started to flower after about 6-7 months in the pot.

okay thanks for the reply. yes i should mix with tanah merah bakar instead of just using just the organic mix soil. In my house also has a fig plant, it grows big and healthy but no fruit at all.only full of leaves. very strange as  i saw a small potted fig in a nursery already has a lot of fruits.

Bonzai, Cactus, Orchid, miniature flower type of plants..... Can do terrarium as well....

Small part time profit should be ok.....big money no....

Has anybody used eggshells as a source of calcium in your garden?
Is grinding them to a fine powder and sprinkle on the soil sufficient or in a solution form better?

Seems banana skin tea has NPK and also some calcium but I figured its easier to store eggshells 

i dont know the variety. i just prune the tip last few days. hope it can bear fruit.

Hi everyone. I have two small gardens, one for flowers and the other one for vegetables. I have it for years and never had any serious problems with pests, but a month ago both gardens became infested by bugs! Any recommendations? I'm currently reading about how to get rid of stink bugs but I'm so afraid to use any chemicals. My aunt said I should and those natural methods won't work. What should I do? Thanks.

Can somebody recommend some plants for condo preferably those that can be consumed ? I am thinking to get aloe vera, limau purut and pandan leaves. Any other choices? Thanks
