Just checked my DIR-615 setting and it is at

20Mhz and 802.11 b/g.

If I switch to b/g/n, got effect on my devices (smartphones, iPad) ?
*
It will be even better logically, for LAN transfers....
eg. Streaming from NAS or just transferring files to another pc....
All devices that support wireless N can fully utilise the higher speed..

I dont think you will run into any trouble ....

I dont know about power consumption but how much can a router use??

switched to b/g/n.

I dont think I notice any speed different..
*
Did i mention that you only get faster speed for LAN transfer??

If you are transferring files through ur wireless network from your PC or NAS only you will feel it...

For browsing the web, wireless g is already enough...

What I mean is whether or not I can use my unifi username and password at any available TMwifi location such as KFC?
*
If the network is TMWiFi, you can login using ur ID...

regardless of place.... As long as you are subscribed to UniFi....

Added on November 16, 2012, 6:14 pmokay, so the unifi salespeople have appeared at my doorstep, encouraging me to swap to unifi immediately ... with 3 main reasons...

1. one TM box can only provide 8 connections ( there are 10+ lots on my apartment floor ), they claim that if you did not make it, it costs another rm1000+ for another connection

2. They claim that TM are going to cut off Streamyx lines (due to wire theft and rusting ) and switching everybody to Unifi by 2013

3. Free Equipment, Free installation ( yeah the same old stuff that they say everytime they say "limited time only" for like, since launching of UniFi )

So my question is... Is TM really going to cut off thier Streamyx lines??
Truth or Myth?? are the reasons really true (except 3rd everybody knows the limited time is forever )

Or is this just a story to make people move to UniFi? so they can dominate the whole market before other companies come out with better plans?

TM allow u to carry forward as long as u pay the monthly phone line rental, so u can keep the old number. However for unifi, u will have additional new number and it is given bundle with internet and iptv.

Is it possible if I install another unifi to another place? Means that I have 2 unifi/home under 1 account. How about the contract? hmm.gif

Thanks for any feedback notworthy.gif

I think its better to have a separate account??
So its easier if you want to terminate or do some other stuff

PS: Is it possible to use the set top box as a normal network player ? (DLNA)

i used to download torrents movie files in a day. recently only , my torrent movies takes ages to complete. now already in the third day and a few movies just downloading a few kbytes.

i make a report to unifi and they told me to use speedtest with lan cable instead of wireless. i try with wireless but the status seem ok and download in small quantity 3.7kb
*
Please try with larger files (few hundred MB)....

And find a file with alot of seeders....
If you are desperate, find some game installers with BT downloads, legal and confirm got seeder
