Hi there, I'm new in this.

Just had Unifi recently, VIP5 and the download speed is great, constantly around 500kbps!! =)

However, I checked that Unifi prevents torrent seeding right?

Is there any way to bypass this? P2P is a file sharing thing, I believe in providing once I get downloading from other fellow seeders.

Kindly advise me, gurus.
*
congrats bro

no unifi do not block it yet

bitcomet got LTS (long time seed) which make ur PC upload to other using HTTP not bitorent so even if tm block bittorent u can still (give back) to comunity... icon_rolleyes.gif

Yet? That means Unifi will block seeding in the future soon, right?

Hmm, I'm using uTorrent, and I'm facing very low upload speeds despite the high download speed.

Are you able to tell me why this happens? Once download is complete, the moment I want to seed, I don't see any peers connected, it's either 1-5 peers or none, this is miserable.. As a result, no upload is made..

Kindly advice me, thanks =)
*
did u forward ports in router (green icon?)
no upload doesn mean its blocked.. if torrent got many seeds.. u maybe not neede tongue.gif tongue.gif

just try bitcomet bro... not light like utorrent but its good.. see how upload i get full speed down/up

Ya, I did. The upload speed is just dissapointing for torrents.. =/

ya, I will try Bitcomet soon, let me finish off my downloads then I might give it a try when I'm free =)

utorrent is lightweight, that's the only thing I knew XD
*
u r right.. utorrent is light and very good and that is the prob... coz it very popular many isp i think just use software or hardwares just to block it...

another one bitcomet not vry mainstream... then not target for ISP... so the speed full wink.gif

The data transfer capacity of 40Gbps is the equivalent of downloading a high-resolution DVD in about two seconds.

how speed 40gbps then 2 sec for DVD? its not even 1 sec...
don tell me disk write time.. can use ssd raid.. rolleyes.gif

conclusion: person who write article got no idea so don take serious.... tongue.gif

Hey guys, don't whats up with my unifi lately. I'm on VIP 10. Previously my torrenting speed average was around 800kbps and above. Now, seems to be stagnant around 70-100kbps. Any clues?
*

anyone has any screen shot of torrent speeds using VIP5??per say this torrent has a very good seed ratio/number.

would like to know what speeds are considered "normal" for unifi users.im getting confused with kbps and MBps
*
for vip5.. can reach 580kBps (kilobyte per secon.. or 0.5mBYTEps)
what prog u using for torrent? try bitcomet if ur speed is not max and don forget to forward ports ....

hoo even with unifi port forward is needed? hmm.gif i tried forwarding but x jadi...the dir615 modem page is a bit diff then the ones posted at portforward .com.
*
but almost same...always call NAT PORT FORWARD or VIRTUAL SERVER or OPEN PORT... so try forward then check in torrent is it the green icon?

don forget to set ur PC ip to static so always same ip...

if highrise >>>>> yes same like phone cable (use vdsl)

if lowrise (means house or ground level) >>>>> fiber.. not same

also i agree with u... cable always better than wireless or homeplug..

sometimes homeplug is ok for like iptv...etc
but if u got choice, always cable first... cable got best lag.. best speed best everything

Btw guys, if the modem and router is starting to make that noise (a soft sharp noise), does it indicate hardware problem in the future?
*

You mean the buzz (like mosquito's sound)? happened to me last month and the modem spoiled a few weeks later after that...  doh.gif
*
if noise mean capacitor will die soon...

haha...mana tau maa  smile.gif
i using tplink 1043 tranfer big file not enougn fast.....

i every month have to restart router so that ont tooo overload..
*
after u restart it become faster? if that then u r right.. maybe unit not that great...
also remember... even if u hv best router u need fast pc to get full giga speed
the most importat part in pc is hdd... most of time this thing slow down the pc coz cant write fast enough... so the connection feel slow down but its not rotuer.. its hdd!!!

edit: see this http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/hard-dr...and-ssds,3.html

Nah,you don't need SSD just for that. Normal SATA 3 and Gigabit Lan combo will get you a fast enough speed.
*
nah
fast enough... of coz.. but can hdd bottleneck? yes can....
sata 3 7200rpm (most people got this): 80mbytes/s
gigabit network card + real gigabit rotuer/switch: 120mbytes/s

it will slow u down.. jus coz (interface) like sata iii is 6gb/s doesn mean ur hdd can transfer that rate.. it can transfer at what the hdd itself can read/write not its interface
