QUOTE(adx @ Jan 12 2013, 09:36 AM)
Question:

1. Can I ask them to install the FTB as near as possible to the front balcony or they will choose the shortest place from the pole?

2. If they ever install the FTB at the back, is it at the first floor or second floor? I read somewhere, standard install is at first floor.

3. I would like to pull the cable over the ceilling up to the balcony in front (more or less 15 meter from back to front) if FTB is at the back. I read that they will charge for over the ceilling work, so I plan to climb it myself. I can do this, last time I do my own piping bypass in the ceilling myself. Pulling the cable will be much more easier. Will they allow this?

4. Related to 3 above, do it need to prepare a conduit inside the ceilling or the indoor fiber cable can be pull naked from FTB to FWS?

5. So they will NOT need to supply me any RJ45 cable and phone line cable, can I ask for it?

6. Due to the cable centre distribution point is outside of the house, will they allow for BTU there? The BTU will be safe from the rain etc but alas it's outside. If I told them, I'll install a box and put the BTU inside, will it be enough?
Pls advice. I'm want to make sure this installation free of extra charges.

Thanks.

1. It depends on the installer. Some nice one also ask where the prefer place by customer.

2. First floor, standard installation.

3. You need the fibre cable from the installer (from FTB to BTU), and terminate the fiber at BTU - modem so cannot done by yourself.

4. Fibre cable inside (not expose to outdoor), don't need a conceal piping for it. Got is a plus but not a must.

5. Rj45 and phone line cable is come together with the Router (last time there were at least 3 RJ45 come together with the router), my experience of previous installation.

6. Don't understand the situation. BTU is a modem, expose at outside is not something advisable, or you mean FTB?
FTB surely need to put at outside, and preferable not subjected to rain.
