QUOTE(rattan @ Aug 14 2012, 06:45 PM) Actually for me the DLINK have served me very well as well 3000+ sq ft double story house. Even outside the house in the garden still can get good signal. Can surf on the phone and tab no issues at all. i guess...im staying at double digit floor at my condo...and when i go to ground floor...i can still see my house AP, though its only 1 bar (around 10% wifi strength)Maybe it depends on the house structure/obstructions. What i know is that wood is the worst enemy of signal. Signal becomes weak when it gets in contact with wood. the dir615 cant be that bad, just that maybe it lack features/optimization. |

Infact I personally had a headache trying to troubleshoot their router. End of day, simple. Check the DIR in the store n get a tplink for mere $90. Solved.the dir615 cant be that bad, just that maybe it lack features/optimization. This post has been edited by rattan: Aug 15 2012, 05:04 AM |

QUOTE(radioactive @ Aug 15 2012, 12:11 AM) From my experience, you log in using your id@unifi and password is the same as your unifi log in password. thanx.. will try later if got TM hotspot.. So far it works on every of the TM wifi hotspot I happen to be in. Almost all secret recipe has TM wifi, it'll be a good place to try it out if it works. There's an option for the portal to remember this device. Once you selected that option, You don't need to enter your log in details anymore. just open any web page and a 'logging in automatically' page then you're good to go. So far so good with my phone and my tab. Not sure how it works though, mac address capture maybe? |

Hmm, my house does not seem to have any wood in the way, but the wifi signal is quite hard go pass through. Once I am outside the door, the wifi signal goes to one bar only. The DIR-615 is used as a dedicated AP now, and even after using DD-WRT and bumping up the wifi strength it still feels weak. Maybe I need to do the tinfoil thingy as well XD

Anyway its not meant to b broadcasted outside of US. Well that explains it all. |

Btw guys, I have just install UNIFI 10mpbs into my home in Penang on 11/8/2012. The things is, download and upload speed is beautiful but I notice that while doing web browsing to website, I need to minimum refresh a few times to load the page and sometime it even time out. All the website I try when i was using streamyx 4mpbs got so such problems. I even try to change the UNIFI dns to google dns 8.8.8.8 but it does not help much, so I wonder anyone out there is having the same problem like me?

hi, wanna ask about unifi.
1. currently, I'm staying at apartment at Sentul. last time, I asked unifi staff about installation on high-rise building. she said just plug the phone cable to the wall socket. but my home doesn't have a wall socket for the cable. can I still install unifi? 2. few years ago, my name got blacklisted for not paying my celcom broadband bills on time. but I already cleared the bills. last year, a staff at Digi told me my name is still on blacklist. now I'm not sure. can I still apply for unifi? how to check if I'm still on blacklist? QUOTE(mrg220t @ Aug 16 2012, 12:49 PM) QUOTE(djhenry91 @ Aug 16 2012, 01:38 PM) Yup, youtube been loading extremely fine for me. Was streaming olympics games all the way. Infact 3 computers on my network was watching youtube streaming through out. Had no buffering or loading issues. MY TPLINK 841 really took the beating lately. Neighbors also came over to a party and all was connected to the router and surfing/youtubing. No issues at all. |
