Actually for me the DLINK have served me very well as well 3000+ sq ft double story house. Even outside the house in the garden still can get good signal. Can surf on the phone and tab no issues at all.

Maybe it depends on the house structure/obstructions. What i know is that wood is the worst enemy of signal. Signal becomes weak when it gets in contact with wood.

i guess...im staying at double digit floor at my condo...and when i go to ground floor...i can still see my house AP, though its only 1 bar (around 10% wifi strength)

the dir615 cant be that bad, just that maybe it lack features/optimization.

From my experience, you log in using your id@unifi and password is the same as your unifi log in password.
So far it works on every of the TM wifi hotspot I happen to be in. Almost all secret recipe has TM wifi, it'll be a good place to try it out if it works.

There's an option for the portal to remember this device. Once you selected that option, You don't need to enter your log in details anymore. just open any web page and a 'logging in automatically' page then you're good to go.
So far so good with my phone and my tab.

Hmm, my house does not seem to have any wood in the way, but the wifi signal is quite hard go pass through. Once I am outside the door, the wifi signal goes to one bar only. The DIR-615 is used as a dedicated AP now, and even after using DD-WRT and bumping up the wifi strength it still feels weak. Maybe I need to do the tinfoil thingy as well XD

It be better to get a TPLINK replacement router. Don't cost much n better stability and functions.

Good God, the slow connection to US servers has yet been solved? My netflix streaming is sh*t. Have to reset my modem many times to reach different netflix server that has better connection to TM line

I been testing Netflix myself. Don't blame unifi... Netflix server itself is to be blamed. Anyway its not meant to b broadcasted outside of US. Well that explains it all.

currently, I'm staying at apartment at Sentul. last time, I asked unifi staff about installation on high-rise building. she said just plug the phone cable to the wall socket. but my home doesn't have a wall socket for the cable. can I still install unifi?
