Sony provide the way to unlocked bootloaders and mentioned already it will void the warranty. Unlocked Bootloader it not for some beginners to thinker their devices. Sony expect only experienced ppl to unlocked bootloader not for some noobs. But for the warranty of yellow tint, Sony should give a replacement screen since yellow tint not related to unlocked bootloader.

wanna ask how about relocking bootloader??? does the warranty stays?

ya, i also give up d , my phone hard bricked after update to ics, lucky can reboot after send to AP warranty, lazy to bring back but a bit disaapointed bcos one of the main reason buy xperia s is the superb screen.. somemore xps is the flagship model

Hi guys...i am having problem with my xperia s. After updating to ICS, it seems that I am having problem with the sound. No sound during calls, no sound when playing mp3.

Only way is to plug in a headphone and unplug it again, and there you get your sound again. This doesn't seems to be a good solution isn't it?

Any way to fix it?

hmm.. my case is diffrent, i am dying to get my stock launcher home screen to rotate because i use usb keyboard all the time and put the phone horizontal. all screen can rotate exept the home screen

says who? htc, motorola and others release their unlocked bootloaders and warranties aren't voided. warranties are voided only when u root the phone which is different from unlocking the bootloader. more so they dont uninstall existing apps when u unlock the bootloader.

Did i say that the phone needs to be unlocked for it to work perfectly?

I'm not trying to start a war/argument here but please READ through the links you just posted yourself before posting them..
from the xda link regarding htc no where in section 7 does it say it will be voided by unlocking the bootloader. on the jayceooi link in the comments section Hmmm i think is true for most android phones? Warranty void when rooting, custom rom.. etc

sony's warranty voidance is applying to BOTH SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE (read the link posted by junsheng) ... i went to sony center in times square get the xperia ion cos i read in a topic here that it was available in malaysia, i got there and the attendant told me that only the xperia s was available i didn't want to buy b'cos i didn't know anything about it. i decided to check here first for opinions and someone is saying that unlocking his bootloader wiped all his apps. and then in addition warranty voided for both hardware and software? I like to have my bootloader unlocked so that i can try stuff with my phone.. if i wanted a "prison" phone then yes that won't be an issue now would it? different strokes for different folks... i'm glad this forum exists as i now know not to get the phone, is that a bad thing?

Vanilla Android incoming to Xperia S 

       

As you can see above, there are some apps that change to grey icons, and when i press them, it will show 'the application not found'.  The apps can be used again after i restart.

But Everytime i restart my phone, there must be 1, 2, or 3 apps that change to the grey icon as shown above.

What problem is that?
