i'm starting to think sony sucks when it comes to support and software development. they cant catch up at all. lol...good hardware paired with shit software, well, not shit out of the box, but shitty updates.

I`m quite suprise ppl complaining Xperia S ICS problem or slow... My wife ICS without any issue...

Sony slow updates might be due to it have no bug at all or bugs that can be neglected till they have major update... Sony release major updates most of the time without them to release another updates not like Samsung which only gives promises and in the end the updates have high chances a broken updates...

Just something to share with you... smile.gif

A Saga of Samsung vs Cyanogenmod of Exynos4 Dev and how Samsung attitude towards consumer as well.. smile.gif long story but worth to read

you sure? maybe some users are not sensitive in the bugs because some of the features they dont use. but it costs an arm or leg for others. the most important feature, and the reason i get XPS is the physical camera button and the quick launch. i tested my friends XPS on ICS .45 still have bugs launching the camera. failed 2~4 times out of 10. which is definitely software bug introduced by ICS in the first day. GB has no such problems. not to say this is the only bug. the lag in BT music, auto focus problem bla bla...list goes on.

i am complaining because for this bug alone, there has been thousands of feedback in sony official forum, xda...and the dev do nothing. what's more to say it is proven software bug, release a patch targeting it already. and we would understand if they pushed their major updates behind a bit.

a good number of us would already be on a different phone by then. maybe that's what sony thinks too.
*
yeah man. maybe this will be my last sony phones. been using all SE phones + one legendary nokia 3310 in my life. LOL. maybe i will get next asus or htc? hmm...but definitely not korean phones. samsung's display hurts my eyes with stupid over-saturated color they called color rich. my arse. the S3 camera snaps real bad pictures. I compared in SENQ side by side with my XPS, showed to my gf, she can straight away tell the PQ difference already.

obviously....galaxy w single core.
xperia s have dual core with more capable gpu.

it is the ICS bug i am talking about. so i presume that you are on ICS yes?
People i have no lag in homescreen on GB. so it is the ICS. if you're on ICS, wait for JB or try to do reflash to GB. haha...oh and my camera button works fine. sony sucks on software updates. mad.gif

how do u guys cope with no memory card slot? does usb on the go work fine?
*
what do you need so much memory for a phone? movies? 26GB is more than enough. I cant even use up to 10GB. yes the OTG works fine. I can even hook up a BT logitech mouse with it.

dont be lazy, house cleaning! anything you dont need, there's no worth to keep.

the battery you dont have to really worry. with minor gaming, moderate surfing + FB + whatsapp + calls can easily lasts you a day. unless you go heavy gaming or GPS related apps (wechat?) or heavy calls.

if you wanna save juice in idle mode, without the need of data, can turn that off. it can save tons of juices.

Hi new user
Read this

Added on December 30, 2012, 9:01 amI noticed that the capacitive controls are NOT at the dot.
Definitely not at the transparent bar either.

The real location is above the dots and below the screen.

A soft touch will do. But since it's very close to the screen. Need to aim very carefully.

i have zero problems with the touch buttons. you need to do swipe up movement. i have never missed.

yay so far no miss in quick launch. BT off also quick. only thing i found not nice is what i mentioned, the left notification bar icons. all dimmed. damn.

battery seems to burn tad faster compared to GB.

the dark side is too tempting eh? tongue.gif

can we configure the 'slide to silent' on the homescreen? blush.gif
*
that one still no. hahaha...i update because the BT and flight mode haywire a bit in GB. Once you turn on flight mode with WIFI, then u turn off flight mode, mobile data wont come back. and for the BT issue, if you on/off BT too many times, BT wont turn on again. haha...both bugs require rebooting phone to work again.

they fixed those in ICS, but earlier ICS introduced camera quick launch and BT music stuttering bug. They fixed BT bug in .45, now they fixed camera stuttering in .55. i would say good job sony, albeit they work like tortoise speed for software releases.

still, now they need to fix the notification bar too dim problem and let us customize the lock screen! i dont wanna install too many 3rd party apps just to do simple stuff. haha...and another major reason i update to ICS is because i wanna ban those apps that keeps on processing background data. haha...
