Hey guys, would like to know if any of you guys fully charge the IMA battery manually every 2 to 3 months to prolong battery life? According to the Honda salesman, it is done by pressing the fuel pedal with gear set at 'N' position, and maintain the RPM at around 3-4000 for 4-5 minutes.

Haven't done this before, and didn't notice of anyone talking about it on the thread, so I'm wondering if anyone is doing this practice. blink.gif

never heard of this... but the IMA have 8 years of warranty so actually i wish it kong at around 7yrs and i get a new replacement ... hahaha ... touchwood  tongue.gif
however, the way you mentioned is hard to practice...
like what you mentioned, it is like a super long downhill distance... you switch to N and let your car keep rolling without any gearing? hell this is too dangerous... i dowan to risk my life just to prolong the battery...
and when u downhill at a 15-20km/h, once you hit the brake, if you are in N or D, the engine will just auto stop till you lift up your leg from the brake... engine stop and 3-4k rpm? how to do that? LOL

and not to forget, keep on downhill stepping brake will cause your brake disc and pad damaged  blush.gif

Oops, sorry for causing the confusion. Actually this is done while the car is resting. Gear switch to N with hand brake pulled.

Honda Civic Hybrid 2013 and 2012 no need to do this.
Only Insight and previous generation Civic Hybrid needs that bcoz different technology.

I see, thanks for the info! But I wonder how come the salesman still recommends me to do this, I bought my car on Dec 2013.

Wanna ask if any sifu here drive the car up to Genting before?
Will it be underpower if switch on the ECO mode? Do you guys switch off ECO mode and use 'S' gear to drive up to Genting?

Wanna ask all sifus here, if anyone has experience a slight 'jerk' on the car after starting up the engine?
Mine happens almost every time after I start the car engine, so wanna check if any of you all also experience the same thing.

Hmm, ok, I shall inform the technician when I send it for service as well. Thanks!
