Hello, anyone here that has driven your Civic Hybrid on Penang (or any small town with many traffic stops)? How was your fuel consumption?
Mine is rather poor with 12.8km/l (mileage of 3000km) because driving around Northern region of the island everyday...Georgetown-Pulau Tikus-Tjg Bungah with the longest road without traffic light being 2km along Kelawai Road. 100% City with lotsa traffic stops. No driving on Jelutong Expressway or to Airport and no Penang Bridge. Sometimes heavy footed, mostly light footed. My ECO rating for each drive (everytime I turn off the car) is usually 4 leaves, sometimes 5 leaves(max). Driving with ECON off. Engine oil still Honda stock mineral since day 1. Hope to hear your kind feedbacks and your sharings. Thank you. --- updated on 6 March 2014 --- I turned on ECON mode. drove gently and press lightly on the gas pedal. Now I can achieve 15km/l around the same city area. However with such driving, all the fun went out the window. No longer has POWER of dream. You don't have to turn on ECON mode to make it better fuel consumption. I am keeping my best record now (without ECON mode) and my average fuel now is 17km / l. Fyi, I am driving my car in KL - 70% highway 30% normal.Mine is rather poor with 12.8km/l (mileage of 3000km) because driving around Northern region of the island everyday...Georgetown-Pulau Tikus-Tjg Bungah with the longest road without traffic light being 2km along Kelawai Road. 100% City with lotsa traffic stops. I thought hybrid car achieve maximum fuel efficiency during city drive ? Or only apply to toyota hybrid ? Still waiting for mpv hybrid, maybe another 2 year grey importer will bring estima hybridMine is rather poor with 12.8km/l (mileage of 3000km) because driving around Northern region of the island everyday...Georgetown-Pulau Tikus-Tjg Bungah with the longest road without traffic light being 2km along Kelawai Road. 100% City with lotsa traffic stops. QUOTE(katmai81 @ Mar 21 2014, 07:57 PM) So good ah? I only managed to hit once 20km /l. Im not a racer. Just normal drive. Average speed will be around 90 - 100km/h on highway. For normal city road, around 60 -80km/h. Sometimes Im quite confuse, because I see many people posting better results than what I am getting for my HCH. I wonder whether the car still new or what. My car is not yet exceeding 5k mileage. |

My car is not yet exceeding 5k mileage. It really depend or individual driving style. Some ppl enjoying pickup speed, some ppl patiently press and slow accelerate. If u drive at aggressive way, surely u will get very high fc, if u drive in very manner way, u will get very good fc. I normally come out early, then drive at slow accelerate when city drive, when driving at highway, i maintain at 110km/h speed n no keep on break n pickup back the speed. So that i can get average 20km/l above. From my driving on HCH experience so far, 50% city drive and 50% highway, i usually will get around 18km/h average. Some time when i drive in moody, i only manage to get at 13km/h...... |

After 3 months of driving HCH, now with 3000+ km mileage, Engine oil is still factory Honda mineral oil(not changed yet). Tried Shell, BHP, Caltex.
100% highway for 400km at 95-115km/h speed, can only manage around 16.9km/l at best with ECON ON. Driving gently and smooth. 100% highway driving for 300km at 120-150km/h, ECON OFF, **Agressive acceleration and speeding**. I get 12.5km/l. 100% in KL city driving (speed up to 60km/h) with traffics stops around Kepong area. Around 14km/l. ECON ON and non agressive driving. 80%HW, 20%city KL Kepong-Ikea-LCCT driving (speed up to 110km/h) with very little traffics stops (mostly only Toll Booth stop). Around 15.7km/l. ECON OFF, non agressive driving. 100% Penang city driving with a lot of traffic stops around Georgetown. around 14km/l or less. non agressive driving with ECON OFF. 100% Penang city driving with a lot of traffic stops around Georgetown. 12.8km/l or less. **Agressive** driving with ECON OFF. Give me you thoughts. |
