I suspect the resale value of HCH will be similar to Korean cars. Having said this, if petrol price goes up and up to above RM3.50 per litre, many people will consider Hybrid and therefore increased demand for hybrid cars will push resale value up.
The buyers may consider either P1/2's hybrid but there will be buyers who prefer Honda/Toyota hybrids. Since so far, most CKD hybrids are small, those looking for sedan size will consider Prius/Civic Hybrid. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. But wishing for the petrol increase would be unfair to those who ain't driving a car that is fuel efficient yet. |

Is there anyone with HCH but without tinted glass? How good is the Heat Absorbing Glass on HCH if you put your arms under the sunlight under the window for 20seconds. Can feel heat from the sun?

it doesnt have to do much with what lubrication your engine is fitted with. the most important factor in acquiring amazing numbers in terms of fc is still how well you control your right foot. i can get 21km/l no prob if i keep the speedo green even with 5w40. yes if you use the 0w20 getting those 20-21 figures are easier but your engine is not at its optimum performance and it wont be good to acc hard while using low vososity oils such as 0w20 as the wear and tear are greater. im an engineer and these are just my two cents. go for the premium oil and you will have a healthier engine for a longer duration.

Btw, do u feel jerky (feels like the car shift the gear ratio up n down for few times) when u hav abt 1/4 o half throttle? |

QUOTE(jeffpwhoong @ Feb 12 2014, 03:52 PM) Ya, i cn hear the roar too.. of course, thats due to the fact that we have an integrated system between the engine and the battery powered part of it. so having a cvt in most hybrids isnt just due to the fact that it increases fuel efficienct by having the possibility to maintain at any or optimum revs. infinite gear ratio. a cvt is able to most effectively transmit these two types of output and combine them. Btw, do u feel jerky (feels like the car shift the gear ratio up n down for few times) when u hav abt 1/4 o half throttle? the jerky feelin you feel is felt because the computer is trying to dictate which power to optimize at that particular time hence the jerk. eg. -from the instant you release the gas pedal computer switches to charging hence (jerk) -from low speed acc.. (jerk) -the amount of brake applied (jerk) because its a honda. we dont get the luxury of more premium hybrids such as the most common a6hybrid that fully isolates and drown out this jerky effect as if it is a normal petrol vehicle. |

I went to test drive the Toyota Prius (non-C) and I have to admit its acceleration and braking was very smooth like normal car (with smooth CVT). I love its futuristic simple gear knob. No jerks of any kind at all no matter how I drove just as I would drive HCH. Having said that, I am surprised to find Prius' NVH is not as good as HCH on the same roads. In addition I prefer HCH's dashboard and displays eventhough Prius' dashboard is also very good and functional. The original factory tint for Prius is not good at all because my arm was feeling the heat from the sun. I would have preferred if Toyota allows for non-factory installed tint so that I can tint it outside. [[Yes, I know I can take the Prius outside to have its tint removed and reinstalled...but with extra cost.]]the jerky feelin you feel is felt because the computer is trying to dictate which power to optimize at that particular time hence the jerk. eg. -from the instant you release the gas pedal computer switches to charging hence (jerk) -from low speed acc.. Overall, I am happy with my HCH. Fun to drive and speed around Penang. |

[[Yes, I know I can take the Prius outside to have its tint removed and reinstalled...but with extra cost.]] I drove my fren prius b4.. it is actually quite nice.. especially the head up display.. feel like vy high tech.. hvw.. i notice accelerate from electric to engine start, there is no jerk bt wif noise like turning the key to start a vios.. beside the wind noise proof is bad..Overall, I am happy with my HCH. Fun to drive and speed around Penang. In the end i choose HCH due to its stability at high speed, its moderate pick up, n its price tag of course.. even prius save more fuel, bt the rm20k diff may nid a longer time to recover.. So far my disatisfaction on HCH is only the braking force.. nt even s strong s my vios G.. |
