Hi guys,

I am interested to change all my tyres but still considering Continental Max Contact 5 or Nexen N8000.

Anyone used or using these tyres? My donut size are 215/45/17. Need some kind inputs.

Also, it is advisable for me to use 215/50/17 for extra comfort?
No budget to downgrade the size, cos need to spend additional money and look less nice if 16 inch.

Thanks

There's nothing max in maxcontact. It's a comfort tyre afterall.

MCS 5 would set you back at least 350 a piece.

overall its a good tire, quiet and comfortable. quite good wet grip. not sure about wear cuz i have only done 2k+ on mine.

n8000 can consider good because low noise, traction wise in wet and dry is consider good but sidewall soft and some of my tyre thread seems tear off abit. about 8 months and 10k using. Overall is a good and recommended budget tyre

You may try out GT Radial Champiro HPY. It's the flagship model from GT Radial and in the same league as the N8000. Costs about 350 per donut for 225/45R17. Not sure if they have for 215.

Have done about 6k km on my ride and the silence, comfort and grip is just excellent. Most importantly it's affordable.

You can check with Quicksave USJ.

cannot say not good but mc5 is much comfort and less noise if compared
for me v7 rubber is very hard, i dislike the harshness especially on rough or patched road
replaced it with mc5 at 350 each and used for 3k mileage at the moment, so far so good

if you interested in v7, try ask in forte forum..there might be someone selling as it is stock tyre for forte as i last known

If you want something low noise, good rubber compound, superb quality, good handling, go for Yokohama Advan dB V551. Cost around RM475, look for "nestum" in Automotive Garage for best price.

Had mine in 215/45/R17 size, so far so good, really quiet.

I've used few sets of n8k.
the sidewall is soft - yes..but u can counter by filling up to 34psi.

Best price/performance ratio for me. I am semi aggresive when driving and i like sweeping corners. A set has lasted me about 24000 km on average

I have trashed a set of N8000 previously and they hold on well. Just like ATR Sports, I have no complaint on N8000 as the price is cheap.

I find nexen quite good and grippy but it wears out fast because it has a threadwear of around 200 only. I am currently using 265/30/19 for my rear tyres Nexen N8000 and it has lasted for more than a year with 30% thread left. That is around 30,000km of travelling for me

I just changed to Nexen N8000 245/40/18, my previous tyres were the more expensive Toyo Proxes T1 Sport, i noticed quite a lot of difference in grip.

I feel more confident in high speed cornering with the Toyo, but the tyres only lasted me a year.
