Actually I feel for AVB, I think he has valid points about being betrayed.

But if you read Gary Neville's biography, the same happened to one of England's former coach. Players dont like it when a new coach just comes in and set strict rules to everything without explaining why it's being done like that.

So in a way, both the supposedly big-ego players and AVB have valid reasons for their actions, one of them had to take the fall, and AVB was the man. Hope he can carve out a good future for himself.

AVB has a right to be disappointed at RA. They had the same intentions for the club when he signed AVB. They started the project together. They knew its was going to be difficult. Things didn't go as smoothly as imagined, players were unhappy and (hence) results were worse than expected.

OF course, AVB could have done a few things a little differently, but he worked hard for club. So we shouldn't be too hard on him for having those feelings about being sacked. smile.gif

I felt that way too.
He should blames other. part of the sacking is due to his poor performance and unable to motivate the squad.

for me AVB is a great manager but he does not play to the strength of the team and insist on his proven tactic with porto and he fail in man management 101.

I have to thanked him for giving us the UCL trophy tho (indirectly)

It looks gold to me. The champion badge is really nice looking.

Btw, if you are buying from chelsea megastore asia, I would recommend to wait a bit till they give discount. Normally the discount range from 15%-30%. And also, based on my experience the service with megastore is a bit slow now compared to previous years.

the champion badge is really something. Compared to previous champions badge i believe this is the first time they put the cup logo instead of writing the word 'Champions'. Correct me if im wrong.

It looks gold to me. The champion badge is really nice looking.

Btw, if you are buying from chelsea megastore asia, I would recommend to wait a bit till they give discount. Normally the discount range from 15%-30%.  And also, based on my experience the service with megastore is a bit slow.

Liverpool have struck terms with AS Roma for striker Fabio Borini.

The Sun says Borini will be Brendan Rodgers’ first signing after Liverpool agreed a £12million fee with Roma last night.

The Italian striker, 21, is set to complete a move to Anfield in the next 48 hours as the Kop boss begins the latest Red revolution.

The deal delivers a big blow to Andy Carroll’s dreams of making it at Liverpool with the Geordie likely to face another campaign as a bit-part player.

Smells like one of our ex reserved player. We shouldn't let go him but he knows he has no chance to prove his worth in Chelsea.

Great size if linked up with Marin, Mata and Hazard. rolleyes.gif

Nice pdf.
However, i prefer using Soccernet for updated fixtures and results. CL and cup games are not updated yet though.

Correct me if i'm wrong but it wasn't Anton. JT and Anton both talked to each other in the tunnel after the game. JT was afraid that Anton had misheard him or something. Anyways, they both shook hands after the misunderstanding. But it was Anton gf or someone who reported the video clip of JT mouthing those words.

I'm not entirely clear on what went down that day but i'm glad our Captain is innocent.

Transfer Update

Chelsea Winger Florent Malouda Set for Santos Switch

QUOTE
CHELSEA’S French winger Florent Malouda could be on his way to Brazil with Santos, the club where the great Pele starred.
Santos vice-president Odilio Rodrigues confirmed talks have taken place over a possible deal.
The France international will be pushed further down the pecking order at Chelsea with the summer arrivals of Eden Hazard and Mirko Marin.
SOURCE: Daily Star
There are some conflicting stories in relation to the possible move to Santos for Chelsea winger Florent Malouda. This source believes that the imminent sale of Ganso, who has publicly stated his intention to seek a move to Europe, could pave the way for the French international to move to Brazil.
However other sources claim that the wage demands the 32 year old has made are too hefty for Santos to cover. Either way it would seem plausible that a Stamford Bridge exit is on the cards as Roberto Di Matteo certainly looks to be planning for the future and Malouda was a bit part player last term and is set to become even less likely to feature regularly in the coming campaign.
Last term the former Lyon man was handed just 11 Premier League starts and the arrivals of Eden Hazard and Marko Marin, as well as Belgian Kevin du Bruyne (who was loaned back to Racing Genk for the second half of last season following his move to the West London club) will further restrict his involvement in the first team.
Malouda has made a total of 230 appearances for Chelsea since his £13.5m move in July 2007, netting 45 goals in the process.

still not official..but in progress.. sweat.gif

a lot of chelsea fans happy now..including me hahahaha..but still he contributed a lot..especially during the double season.. biggrin.gif

Chelsea set for America tour as Brazil ace Oscar closes in on Stamford Bridge switch

By Sportsmail Reporter

PUBLISHED: 07:54 GMT, 16 July 2012 | UPDATED: 08:19 GMT, 16 July 2012

It was back to business for Chelsea's stars on Sunday as the European champions began preparations for their tour of America with a training session in Seattle.

The Blues, who kick-start their four-match tour with a friendly against Seattle Sounders on Wednesday, are likely to be bolstered by the news that Brazil ace Oscar is closing in on a move to Stamford Bridge.

The west London club are on the brink of completing a deal for the 20-year-old Internacional midfielder after launching a mega bid for his services.

According to the Brazilian club, Chelsea are prepared to break the bank for a player who is touted as one of world football's hottest properties.

'I want the transfer of Oscar to be the biggest transfer deal ever in Brazilian football,' Internacional chief Giovanni Luigi told Radio Gaucha. 'And the Chelsea offer isn't that far from that.'

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will bankroll a £25million transfer for a player who shot to prominence last summer when he became the first player to score a hat-trick in the FIFA Under 20 World Cup final against Portugal.

The Brazilian - full name Oscar dos Santos Emboaba Junior - was also watched by Real Madrid and Barcelona, with Tottenham among his pursuers.

Chelsea face Seattle on Wednesday before games against Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan.

Roberto Di Matteo's side will also take on an MLS All-star team which will include former Barclays Premier League stars David Beckham and Thierry Henry.

hmmm..oscar is a attacking midfielder that can drop deep to the defensive midfielder position..good distribution of ball and for what i see..a very2 good long range shooter..hahaha.. laugh.gif

QUOTE
Chelsea's newest rumored transfer target is Oscar from Internacional (Brazil). Here's 5 things to know about him:

1) He is one of the best young dribblers in Brazil -- A right-footed player, he stands a respectable 5'9" and isn't afraid to use his pace and technique to get around opponents. His dribbling style is more on the stylish side but remains effective.

2) He favors his right foot -- Unlike players such as Juan Mata who are excellent with both feet, Oscar tends to set up his right foot more for shots. His left foot is decent but certainly nothing to write home about.

3) He isn't the hardest working player -- Oscar often relies on his positioning and instincts to find himself at the right place in the right time. This may be a concern should Oscar move to a bigger league where these pockets of space collapse quickly.

4) His pace is good, but not great -- This won't be as much of a concern if he's playing in the midfield but if he's expected to play as a right-sided player don't expect him to make the runs of elite wingers.

5) His passing for his age is very good -- Oscar has a natural instinct for facilitating the game and getting his teammates involved. For being only 20 years old he has excellent vision on the pitch, although he will likely need to get stronger to fend off physical holding midfielders.

In short, Oscar is a prospect many clubs in Europe have their eye on and for good reason. His ability to create space with his dribbling and pick out the open player afterwards is a rare combination many teams around the world would love to have.

The best part of the Oscar signing – we’re effectively telling spurs ‘you lot could’ve robbed us off 45 million pounds last season for modric. Now you’re looking to peddle him to madrid at a 15 million pound ‘loss’ from his original value because you tried to prove a point. Good luck with that, and by the way we’re now robbing you off his intended replacement.’

Sincerely, R.A laugh.gif

p. s : don’t be surprised if it’s a 20 million pound loss in the end, Madrid has some cunning negotiators!

Those young midfielder could all be FLOP !! i hope RDM will not be pressured to field all those new player, else he could end up like AVB. Those deserve starting 11 should be those on form, regardless of age, status, price tag.

ESSIEN and MEIRELES still play good football, even they dont start, they provide a strong backup, the only player i think should go is MALOUDA, he did play a lot minute last season and he offer nothing.

keeping Essien..Miereles I think can move on..I prefer if we really sign Oscar..then Oscar, Josh and Romeu to fight for Lampard and Mikel position...Essien is a backup for all of them and RB..

yap..so far Malouda linked with Santos and Vasco Da Gama..Meireles with Napoli..if both of the deal go through then the signing of Oscar is important..

we are still looking at a striker that capable to play as RW..and a RB..two more signing..and two more departure..then we will ready for the new season..i want EPL back to SB !! icon_rolleyes.gif

and we linked with Cavani..one more question...can Cavani play as RW..??

cuz..

if we really sign Oscar and Cavani..then our lineup will be..

1st 11

---------------Cech--------------
--Iva---Terry----Luiz---Cole----
------Mikel----- Lampard--------
Cavani-------Mata-------Hazard-
---------------Torres--------------

2nd 11

---------------Turnbull----------------
--Hutch--Cahill--Iva---Bertrand----
-------Ramires----- Miereles----------
Marin-------Oscar----KD Bruyne---
--------------Sturridge---------------

still there is no place for the Lukaku and McEachran..or I miss anyone important..?? rclxub.gif Romeu might consider to play as CB again..

that list only players by position..not considering the versatility of players that can swoop places...so the team depth is good..

i hope Oscar would be the last reinforcement, with financial fair play will take place soon i guess we're not over-do it again. so many young talent in Chelsea already, it could keep us silence in the transfer market for few seasons.

i foresee Malouda, Benayoun to be release. pity Josh, so many competitor for him to earn his position.

I also hope Oscar will be the last signing. Juggling big names might be too big of a task for RDM. Iva will defo be the first choice RB, 2nd choice will either be our youth or experience player.

I like Cavani. But having him and Torres in the same team might cause some might end up worse. Plus we have lukaku and sturridge.

Balance between youth and first choice is key. This is something i admire from SAF. So i hope the club and RDM know what they doing.

didnt fancy Iva on the right but yeah i love if we can utilize ALL the players in the squad. Sam definitely gonna provide some backup for Iva + Ferreira is still there. I guess no more RB.

CB department oso not thin actually, Terry Cahill Luiz.

LB with bertrand backup & oso Ferriera to cover.

as for McEachran, i really think that it's either he's patient enough or he might not have a future with Chelsea.
not saying he's bad or anything but last season was frustrating for him even when with Swans.

both of our target Cavani and Hulk both can play on the right wing...so Torres still a main man..we are creating another Drogba Anelka combo again..If Drogba on the bench..Anelka will take the main striker..with the current rumors then If Torres injured or something..then either new signing Hulk/Cavani or Sturridge will lead the front line.. laugh.gif

Police investigate 'choc ice' tweet

Police have confirmed they have begun investigations over alleged racial abuse towards Ashley Cole on Twitter.

Rio Ferdinand made headlines over the weekend when he retweeted a comment labelling Cole a "choc ice" over his decision to support John Terry in court after he was accused of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand.

Ferdinand had tweeted: "I hear you fella! Choc ice is classic hahahahahahha!!"

The term is often taken to mean 'black on the outside and white on the inside', though the Manchester United defender insisted that was not his understanding of the phrase, tweeting: "What I said yesterday is not a racist term. Its a type of slang/term used by many for someone who is being fake. So there."

However, several Twitter users have complained to police that Chelsea left-back Cole had been the victim of racial abuse and an investigation is now underway over the original "choc ice" tweet, which was believed to have been made by a user in the Derbyshire area.

A spokeswoman for Derbyshire Constabulary said: "We have received complaints from members of the public regarding alleged racist comments made on a social networking site.

"These concerns will be fully investigated to establish whether any criminal offences have been committed."

I really hope Chelsea will become stronger this year.
and also Arsenal and Liverpool.
I want the league to be more interesting, more challenging and I want the other big teams to give ManUtd & citeh troubles.
Eden hazard, Marko marin plus some other players will certainly make Chelsea stronger and dangerous like how Robben, Duff and Gudjohnsen used to be.
Bring back the glory from Mourinho era!
You must defeat MU or MC 3-0 at their own turf.

yup it has to be either one. if it comes down to those two, i have a slight preference for hulk as he's more versatile out on the right. cavani as far as i know is most effective as a CF?

even so, if we only end up with victor moses and a RB that would be just fine as well! so many competitions, i'd like some of our players like kakuta and lukaku to have at least some hope of being involved in our season. excited to see RDM's strategy on youth development, however minor.

Ohya, about Lukaku to Fulham, I'd rather we loan our young ones to Everton biggrin.gif

++Moyes has a good way to deal with his players, and also for selection.. I mean, he did miracles with so little to no funds..what a man happy.gif

now oscar's agent claims we've pulled out of negotiations. lol

i can only guess they either tried to increase the price at the very last minute, or its one of those complicated third party ownership thingies (which are notorious in brazil) where we've been asked to pay an additional 3 - 5 % of the total fee to another entity. awaiting more news!

"15.56 BST: Chelsea: Being linked with the world, one player at a time. The club will complete a deal for Marseille defender Cesar Azpilicueta in the next 48 hours, the Daily Star, reporting other reports, reports.

The paper says the Blues will pay £7 million for the Spain international. Newcastle and Liverpool are also thought to have expressed an interest in the 22-year-old but, according to L’Equipe, Roberto Di Matteo’s the manager leading the race.

it's 9.35 bro. don't panic, its the one titled herbalife world football challenge 2012 flex.gif

epson, that one sure came out of nowhere. between him and debuchy, i think they're both full of potential. have to say i've watched more of azpilicueta and was impressed. it kind of explains why we've stepped back from debuchy.

Marin thru pass... Lukaku faked a shot, instead went wide of the keeper , although the touch was heavy, he did well to finish from the angle.

i dunno bout others, but watching from highlight, those two goals from Seattle seems too easy. Hilario should be able to block that kind of shot. he just prove to me that he is past his prime ady..

watched the game this morning. hazard and marin look lively indeed. so does KDB bar his finishing touch.

todd kane look promising in attack.

second half was boring.

Added on July 19, 2012, 3:45 pmon a side note, i don't think oscar and willian is necessary. we already have plenty of cover there.

Actually, since Todd Kane not bad, I believe he can be a decent cover to Ivanovic if Sam isn't considered for the role.

If we sign Azpilicueta, then later Ivanovic dropped to bench?

oscar is a Centre Midfield. serious contender for first xi. real deal for first eleven.

yes of course there's hazard, marin, mikel, josh bla bla bla but yet no one looks able to replace the 'character' of Lampard.

i'm talking abt the same gameplay .. from midfield. ratio 1goal:3 game.. not a bad idea

How about josh? I can't see his future at the bridge if that oscar guy is done deal. 25Mil kinda too much anyway for an unproven youngster.

abit overstatement to say mceachran gg edi coz he's 19.
but of course this also comes to himself. is he ready to wait patiently for chances?

mikel coming to chelsea at age 21 iinm, now ofcourse i put him over essien. (for holding role)

but agree with u, remember what was our concern at the beginning of last season? Lampard's successor, a bit unlucky no Modric nor Pastore dat time. but 'lucky' enough to survive with 2 trophies (and of course the elusive Champions League notworthy.gif )

another lampard successor is either will cost more, or will be another average players (which cost less).
Josh is the most potential prospect that will cost less, but at this rate..he's abit behind the schedule given the fact Lampard oso sudah tua

& yes transfers are always risky.

the players who stood out for me were hazard, marin, josh, lukaku, de bruyne and essien. i really liked the look of KDB, the lad looks confident and hardworking. marin has this fantastic burst of acceleration and is already looking like a player who's not afraid to take on a man or two. hazard is pure class. knows how to control the tempo of the game and keeps things simple yet effective. but for his goals, lukaku was the one i was most impressed with. expertly finished and keeper had no chance with both. my vote is for him to stay and fight for his place! he's our plan B if our passing game can't break down those big buses. despite his blunder, josh did get our team going with a lovely assist for lukaku.

now the bad news is malouda seems to be staying put for another year. sigh. can we put him on the reserves bench of something? sweat.gif

currently watching the match against the Seattle. no time yesterday,
IMO ball movement in the middle of park is still weak. when the ball received by mceachren or obi mikel there is no one in front of them to pass to. IMO we could make create more opportunity with passes to CAM to winger rather than CB/CDM to winger.

it will be a big waste if we failed to sign oscar.
VERY VERY VERY intelligent footballer. he does his job. nothing fancy like CR or Neymar. drop deep to support & start the attack, always short & simple pass. No showboating.& when u expect he will take an extra touch (to control / hold the ball) he can distribute the ball with those simple 1 touch passes. Compose & calm.

on the other hand, bertrand started as RB!

BBC
QUOTE
Oscar, reportedly heading to Chelsea, was particularly superb in this respect, with a gift for finding space both to receive possession and pick out a team-mate.

Goal.com
QUOTE
The South Americans were unable to extend their lead in a much more even second half, but they continued to dominate possession and control the game through the impressive Oscar and Romulo.

TV Globo's Jon Cotterill on Oscar:
QUOTE
"I'd describe him as the brains of the team." (Guardian)

I do hope Oscar can live up to his reputation in epl.

I'd say with Oscar and Cesar, we'd be complete!
But heard we bid for Lewandowski. Prolly as backup for Torres?

Oscar undergo medical...once done will sign contract next...

A failed 17mil pound on Lewandowski...I do not think we will increase the bid. One think is for sure, Chelsea is looking for another striker to fit in the no.11 shirt.

Oscar indeed is an intelligent player. Theres always intent in his play, be it passing or off the ball movement. Eventhough he seems like an average player in layman's eye (less showboating), but surely hes not. In my personal opinion, hes the type player that enable others to shine.

i don't mind if we fail to sign him. we have plenty of player to cover for his position (essien, ramires, mikel, lampard + josh n romeau). if we wait till the ed of transfer windows, we might be able to buy a bargain (still remember how frustrated i am when Totenham sign VDV for a mere 8mill pound) huhuhu

look like oscar waiting for more offers. i believe city will jump in the race by then. don't really mind if he does'nt join us. we always have josh as lampard successor. love to see our own product make it to the first team. as for willian, he's not necessary imo. 26mil for bench players is ridiculous.

"He still had one year left and it was proposed he extended it but he told me eye to eye that did not interest him and he wanted to leave Lens.

"I realised 48 hours later why, when I learned Chelsea wanted him. I understand."

Lens coach Jean-Luis Garcia admitted that keeping the young Belgian was going to be tough.

He added: "He is a boy of 19, his elder brother signs for Chelsea and he is urged to do so by the same club, who won the Champions League.

"Congratulations to Thorgan. Unfortunately we cannot go against such an opportunity. Good luck to him."

certainly impressed with oscar. keeps things simple with immaculate technique. he has this knack of finding space in the middle of the field, without really running that much tongue.gif if anyone can pull up some statistics on his pass completion rate i'm pretty sure it's about 90%+ . he has a good awareness of the game but i would've love to see him add more range to his passing. it's no wonder spurs were looking at him as modric's replacement. now that they heard he's had a medical at SW6, suddenly levy has 'upped' their star player's price to 40 mill. don't think he's a happy camper atm laugh.gif

i agree with ichi, oscar just doesn't want all the hype that comes with officially signing on the dotted line. those complicated terms, swarming journos, official interviews, pictures, schedules, etc. it can get distracting especially as he's involved in a major tournament. it would make absolutely no sense for him to have a medical with us, with no real intention to sign. if he's flirting with other clubs believe me right after the medical he would've taken a short tour to white hart lane or something. besides, internacional would go BALLISTIC and would've reported us to FIFA by now if he didn't have permission to speak to us, never mind having a medical.

wait for more offers? the guy just want to concentrate on olympic.
i dont say he will definitely signs, but he just wants to focus for the game.

imagine if he signed big bucks before olympic. more pressure for him to perform at UK, need to careful with injuries (assuming he SIGNED, long term injury will be much more problems not just for the club but for himself). this guy just want the gold medal for his country! respect.

last time i cud remember, we some oso blamed hazard for waiting for big offer.lol

the kids good...but after watching him...hes not too good compared to our josh....prolly he gets exposure earlier bcoz he is in a smaller team ang get notice earlier by playing more games...of course when u play week in week out u gain experience, composure and maturity...now the media have put attention of course hes going to feel much more confident....i think josh can pull off the same thing to had he risen up from say west ham or aston villa....he might even worth 15mil++ n get bid by top 4 epl clubs....just that hes stuck at chelsea atm are hampering his growth and tremendous potential....

playing small club but playing with brazillian national team. lol that sounds pretty exciting enough for me.
and josh WENT to smaller club, but failed to nick down a place.

had said it over and over again. club as big as chelsea might not be ideal enough for young players to get more playing time.CFC cant offer much spaces. this is reality.

so Josh as professional footballer shud stay calm and fight for his place, work harder (or if got chance to go outside for loan, must grab chances). it's not a CFC problem if we cant offer Josh playing time because we're chasing honors and every single game is a MUST win game.

unless we're willing to sacrifice 1-2 cup like carling or maybe FA cup.

CMON JOSH

Come on la...I think we all expecting too much on Josh la...he can't even shine in a smaller club. What to expect from him in a big team like us? Try harder in his loan spell, maybe we will take a glance on him like Daniel Sturridge.

Currently he is still here only because he is the best addition to complete our homegrown players where right now we only have:

1) John Terry
2) Ashley Cole
3) Gary Cahill
4) Ryan Bertrand
5) Frank Lampard
6) Ross Turnbull
7) Daniel Sturridge
8) Josh McEachran

If he is loaned out, we still have Sam Hutchinson.

we have willian coming in...that should be a great competition in the midfield area...if willian really coming in...it is a sign that the old players need to start to look for other clubs if they do not perform this coming season.

i see your point mate. he did remind me of josh at times with his style of play, and had our boy managed more starts with swansea last season, maybe oscar wouldn't even be in the picture right now. i was quite disappointed with how he was treated during his loan spell, it was either he didn't show enough in training or brendan rodgers just didn't see any point in risking his settled first 11. i have a feeling our management were 'hoping' brendan would give 'preferential treatment' to josh due to his obvious ex-chelsea connections but clearly they were wrong. i don't blame their coach though. he had no obligation to field him, and we do have a poor record of choosing where to park our players.

between willian and hulk i'd rather we go for the porto star. shakhtar's chairman is trying his best to extort money from us and if we're going to spend big, might as well go for the more talented of the two. however, having said that i'm wondering why we're not trying to hijack utd's bid for moura. he looked more lively than hulk within minutes of coming on, in addition to being the cheaper and much younger option. the only drawback is he'll be adding to our already growing list of 'small' players. in short, drogba's muscle still hasn't been replaced. flex.gif

Against uncle Lotti PSG. Should be very interesting match. Too bad I have school tomorrow, couldn't watch it.
Who do you guys think we need to invest our money on? We're closing on Oscar and trying to bid for Moses and Azpi. Maybe Oscar and Azpi are enough, but if we have enough slot for the 25men squad, I won't mind having Moses as well smile.gif

dont put high hope yet. so far since ranieri era, only few of our signing have made it.

look at mutu, great start but then stalled
not to mention swp, crespo, kezman blablabla the list goes on.

i dont know why we havent got a signing that have immediate impact like Chicarito or say, VDV, n the everton striker whatever his name is

before this..

Josh to partner Romeu at the middle of the park..

now with potential that Romeu will return to Barcelona..so..

Oscar to partner Josh is not bad..Josh quite a good tackler..and his natural play is deeper..the same stle of play as Pirlo..but way as good as him yet..Oscar is different...his natural play is advanced midfielder..but can drop deep to get the ball...

William..? I dont think we need him now..Hazard Marin Mata Piazon and possibly Oscar..enough cover already..

Cahill..is good..he always do what need to be done..defend..

Cahill will partner Luiz..after Terry retired..but he still got 3-4 years..maybe 5 years..Bruma and Chalo will ready by then..

We signed Mata, Cahill, Ramires,Luiz, they are pretty good, right?
I am satisfied with them.
I agree Cahill is looking very good, got him 7m is a bargain. He provides fantastic depth in our defense department.

Now, we signed Hazard, De Bruyne, Marin and Oscar(?). I think Hazard will be the only one who can walk straight into the first XI. De bruyne might need some time, and Marin will slowly make his steps into first XI.

Mata might need some rest after olympics and might not be involved in our first few matches. Who do you think we should field to replace Mata?
marin? bertrand? KVD? malouda? or sturridge/ramires?

yes i concede that luiz cahill and ramires is a good signing.

but i'd like to see more from them. i prefer luiz to be defensive midfielder rather than cntreback. his passing ability and vision doesnt do justice to him when hes playing at the back. you can see sometimes when he goes forward, his pass is one real beauty.

Fulham have clinched a deal for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Sun says the Cottagers have swooped for Chelsea’s £18million striker Lukaku on a season-long loan.

The Belgian, 19, made one league start last season.

I don't think we should loan out Lukaku but if he wants it, we should not stop him. hmm.gif

not the best performance...but a good pre season draw..marin impresive again..need to learn to release the ball to the side rather than force the way in..

a bit disappointed with the overall performance. especially the first half. with the ammunition we have, i expect more from the attacking dept. hopefully, this will solve by the time we face city.

defensively, we're a bit shaky. would like to watch RDM prefer first eleven in the next match.

Base on KAKUTA first half performance, i guess he should be loan out again, i dont think he will have a chance to sit on the bench. At some point i thought he was playing MIKEL role doing all those square passes once he receive the ball. As a winger he seem lack confident to be a bit more adventurous trying to hold the ball a while to create chances.

oh yea why our the gold number behind the jersey have to be so BIGGGGGG totally spoil it shakehead.gif

after watching both game, yes i would agree that kakuta is not yet reaching our standard, he is just way behind so as KDB, loaning out them would be good, since we are now pack in wingers..

lukaku some how need to improve more of his positioning, seem like facing psg he have no chance running at defender. loan or not loan, either way is ok, backup for sub or 1st team player in loaned team..

josh also need more experience, loan or not loan, either way is ok, staying with us could help him this season since we have many tournament coming up, he could be in the 1st team for lower priority tournament...but if we get oscar then, we are really pack in holding midfield as well..

Hazard need to be the number 10 ala Messia. ok call me delusional or whatevs, but he only worth with a ball on his feet. His 1st touch, passing and movement is superb. Btw, i can see the glimpse of the old Mikel slowing down the tempo again.

anyway, chill. it's pre season.

IMO the no.10 position not getting much of the ball. Hazard didn't get much of the ball. And Marin disappeared after Malouda came on. I think that's where our problem lies. We can't make our way through to the no.10 from the back line, which usually ends up in a back pass which makes starting again more difficult. RDM should do something about the movement of the front six when attacking from back line.

Well this is what i think and i could be very wrong tongue.gif

For me, Kakuta was the most disappoiting.

Go watch the first half his movements off the ball. Wherever he stands, he's always waiting in safe positions for ball to feet only, never making any forward runs for teammates to pass to.
It's understandable if he's playing as no.10 position, but not for wingers.

There was a clear lack of fluidity in our play vs PSG, especially in the first half. The introduction of marin and piazon made a lot of difference though. We looked somewhat out of ideas vs uncle lotti’s team compared to against seattle. Have to take into account the quality of players we were facing but I guess most of us expected better. Lukaku and kakuta had real off days and will have to do a lot better to impress Robbie. ‘Special mention’ to flomo who’s making a real case for us to just give him away for free and let his slot be taken by one of our young talents.

Marin even in pre-season is already looking like the best dribbler on the team and if hazard’s not careful he might just get upstaged. The latter still showcased his quality in the middle of course but I would prefer him much closer to goal, taking more shots and making a nuisance of himself further up the pitch. Piazon’s leveler was a delightful combination with ramires, and we should’ve won it in the end with that late flurry! Malouda with that shot straight at their keeper..sigh. I think in the next game we’ll begin to see what lineup RDM intends to go with for the season?

i think this is the most likely lineup for upcoming season.

cech
iva Luiz JT ACole
mikel lampard
ramires hazard mata
torres.

hazard and mata can switch their position during the match.
marin might play for the first few matches since mata will only available after some time due to olympics commitment.

can't think of other players for his post. meireles and romeu are behind mikel in the pecking order. oscar is more to attacking than defense. Azpilicueta might been a good addition but can't see him fare better than iva.

I agree with this formation. I prefer Hazard to play in wing tho. He looks better in wings.
He wants to play in role 10, because he can be involved more in attacking build up. But I think he suits wing play more. His pace and flair thumbup.gif
Marin has been impressing in pre-season matches. If he can improve his defensive ability, he could be vital for us this season. Or he can be a fantastic attacking substitute too!
With Oscar joining us soon (YEAHH!), I really can't wait for the new season already.

i had one problem with kucingmainan's line up. it's Lampard, if we really signing Oscar i hope RDM have the guts to drop Lampard to the bench. I know the game against PSG is just pre-season where we should just chill and whatsnot, but we can see clearly when Lampard and Mikel at the pivot post together the gap between defenses and attacks is to big. it slowing down the tempo while letting the opponent to track back and cover up. Or another option is, Lampard to play Mikel position as DMF. But i wouldn't swap Mikel with anyone for the now.

oscar need to prove his worth if he want to be in the 1st eleven week in week out. lampard still have smthg to offer. i believe this season will be the final season for frank lampard. i can't see him play for us beyond this season. or play regularly at least.

decent line up, but i would swap Lampard with Mikel for his defending ability. Unless Hazard+Mata+Marin can give pressure to opponents, closing space quickly ala Xavi+Iniesta. If lenggang2 walking pace, sure kena bombard our defenses.

THORGAN HAZARD JOINS CHELSEA
Posted on: Tue 24 Jul 2012

Chelsea Football Club has completed the signing of Thorgan Hazard from FC Lens.

At 19 years of age, Thorgan is two years younger than his brother Eden, who joined Chelsea from Lille this summer, but is of similar height and build and plays a similar range of attacking positions.

Thorgan too has been learning his trade at a club in northern France, having moved to Lens as a 14-year-old. He graduated into the senior squad for the 2011/12 season and made his debut as a substitute in the first league match of the season, going on to make 14 league appearances in total.

A Belgian youth international, he represented his nation at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 level and played at the 2011 European Under-19 Championship.

Both of Thorgan and Eden's parents were footballers, and Thorgan in his early years was at the same club as his brother - Tubize in Belgium.

an exciting prospect of thor at the club. but doubt he'll be in our 1st team squad for another year. i'm surprise most of u guys exclude ramires from the 1st XI. he is an essential to our team. can support defend and attack. can score goals summore. a must in our first XI.

OSCAR SIGNS

http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0...2860692,00.html

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Oscar.

Oscar, full name Oscar dos Santos Emboaba Junior, who will be 21 in September, is a Brazilian international who played for two clubs in his homeland prior to his move.

Having come through the youth system at Sao Paulo, he graduated to the first team in 2008, the same year he was part of the Brazil side that won the Under-17 World Championships. That feat had also been achieved the previous year.

His time at Sao Paulo came to an end in December 2010 with a move to Internacional, a club based in Porto Alegre in the very south of the country. In 2011 and 2012 they won the local state championship and Internacional also used Oscar as a substitute in the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup, the competition to be contested by Chelsea in December, although they suffered a shock defeat by Congolese side Mazembe.

Oscar, who played international football at every level from Under-15 to Under-20, made his debut for Brazil's senior side in September 2011, coming on as a substitute in a 0-0 draw against big rivals Argentina.

He made his full debut in a win over Denmark in May and his most recent cap, his sixth, was in June when he scored his first international goal although Brazil were beaten 4-3 by Argentina in New Jersey, USA, as Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick.

Oscar's most notable moment on the international stage so far was in the final of the Under-20 World Cup in Colombia when he scored a hat-trick in a 3-2 extra-time win against Portugal.

A 5ft 10in (1.79m) attacking midfielder who can play wide, he has a reputation for good pass-and-move football, protecting the ball and choosing the right moment to play passes.

He is currently part of Brazil's squad at the London Olympics. He played in the 2-0 win over Great Britain in the warm-up game last Friday.

Yes agree with you. Its the PL, he may not be able to work his magic straight away. If he doesn't RDM may opt to chose the more industrial members of the squad. Nevertheless Oscar has talent and he will shine, either sooner or later. But I hope sooner biggrin.gif

Good players can easily adapt for the new environment plus we already got Ramires, Luiz who can help Oscar settle well. Look at Mata, seriously easily to adapt and without doubt the best performer for chelsea last season.

I think what we need right now only a right back. Hopefully apicullieta rumour will become reality. Right now, we got very talented squad, young and fresh. Totally transformed. With the squad we have, I think we can see very exciting Chelsea next season.

half time highlights are showing marin's agility and dribble, but i realised he likes to shoot once he cuts inside the penalty box..abit like robben ? hmm

of course, this is just pre-season and i wouldnt judge anything now yet... but one thing for sure, he is a bargain buy for us !

a win, a draw, and a lose. not really a very pleasing result for pre season. hopefully can win against milan next.

some people already doubting Hazard after his mediocre cameo for the last 20mins. worst thing people already label him as the new Torres.

even RDM not sos sure yet to deploy Hazard as LW or AM..so let just wait for the Man City game..but the real Chelsea will be after the Olympic..missing link between Torres and Lukaku - Sturridge..Mata to hold the AM..Romeu to challenge Mikel and Bertrand to challenge Cole..

just watch brazil vs egypt. have to say oscar not that special. despite the assist. still a bit raw. first time watching him play atcually. hopefully, he can learn as much as possible from lampard.

and the new 3rd kit is blink.gif

p/s: anyone fancy that omar fella from UAE? look promising. can open market for middle east summore.

yes, oscar is pretty good but he's still raw. still a lot of room for improvement. against egypt just now, it looks like he played in the right sided midfield position. two assists, well done boy...

we are pack in the midfield sweat.gif

Mata,Hazard,Oscar,Lamps,Ramires, -1st team

Mikel,Essien,Meirelees,Marin, Romeu, -sub

Benayoun,Malouda - clear out?

Mceachran,Kakuta -loan out?

De Bruyne -loaned

Piazon- back to youth team?

Striker

Lukaku, Sturridge,-sub?

How RDM handle them? rotation?

Added on July 27, 2012, 3:24 pmOscar vs Egypt...

he is like younger version of Modric.. passing and space running, thou he doesnt do much dribble..

i don't think oscar + lampard shud play together. we need a holding midfield. mikel shud be 1st team material.

rilex boss, first 5-6 games are the best time for RDM to utilize his squad with olympic + euro players might not be in the best condition.

then another few more games for these players to gel with the rest.

imo might takes till matchday 10 for us to see who's the best 11 for the season.

mata, oscar, romeu, studge olympic edi.

i dont expect oscar to play as adventurous as hazard mata or marin..he will keep his calm and pass..he will definitely the challenger for lampard position..romeu..and essien will try to dethroned mikel..ramires as RW..

all loan players should leave at the end of the transfer windows..they need to help the team first..because the olympics players should get some rest before rejoin the squad...
