had you install phone driver into the pc before? try to restart the phone and connect it to the pc first to see it can detect it or not first.. if already hv driver, then try with other usb port.. if desktop try to use the usb port at the back..

you mean even kies also can't connect to your phone? i mean no download.. just connect.. if kies also can't connect.. i think something wrong with the driver... odin won't be able to detect your phone too.. try install the kies or driver again..

last night when i did the rooting.. i only have 30% left.. if it's just root, i think it's ok.. at least for me few times root all done within 1 mins.. so it's more than enough..

if you want those fully protection then.. got many choice out there.. like otterbox defender, casemate phantom, trident kraken..

or you can look at those double layer protection like otterbox commuter, trident aegis, or casemate tough.. i think those should be ok for daily protection .. but of cause not as ultimate as those like defender..
