WHAT’S THIS ABOUT?
Brickfields is one of the oldest, most colourful and interesting areas in Kuala Lumpur! It’s also home to more than a dozen religious places with structures as old as 103-years-old!

Using creative mediums, the Projek Rumah Ibadat Kita aims to highlight the religious diversity of Brickfields. By the end of the project, participants will produce photographs, videos, journals and community exhibitions that will be used for educational purposes by the community, public and NGOs!

ACTIVITIES:
– Research workshop
– Mapping workshop
– Video workshop
– Photography workshop
– Community exhibition

All workshops are facilitated by experienced art & media practitioners. Our activities are hands-on and packed with fun! We will explore Brickfields by foot, talk to the locals, conduct activities all over Brickfields, and finally, install an exhibition for the community. Photos, videos, journals and other items will be produced during the workshops.

VENUE: Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur

ACTIVITY TIMES: Every Saturday & Sunday, 4 hours per session.

THIS IS A KOTA KITA PROJECT.
Kota Kita designs, organises, trains and runs community projects using creative arts. Set up in 2010, Kota Kita is run by a group of mainly art workers and media practitioners. Our mission is to empower and facilitate members of a community towards personal development, and to enrich their relationship with the community through creative mediums. Our most notable project is Projek Chow Kit Kita, a 3-year community mapping project in Chow Kit. This project received numerous media coverage and we have shared this project model in local universities and forums abroad.

Last year, we were featured in The Star newspaper in the 31st August Merdeka edition under its tribute to ordinary heroes.
