195/55/R15 is fine with FLX stock suspension, but put on BLM/FL stock suspension will sagat when full load.

Experienced it first hand when me, Kenjilew, Koh_424 and r3apers took a sagat-ful death-ride in David's car  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

Is it possibly due to wheel width and offset? It's possible that too much offset(or too little, depends on how you interpret it, the smaller the number, the more "outside" the wheel is), although, yeah, spring rates does affect this issue too.

Just called up my tireman, he say KU37 for 14 inci tak ade stock yet, but that size exists la. you try asking other shops. Not sure about the Turanza, though  blush.gif
His tire width IINM is also 195, offset dunno also, have to ask Dabid  hmm.gif

Malaysia tyre import kinda weird one la.. Even though official site lists it, it might not be able to get it in retail rclxub.gif

Tyre size is kinda fixed(although, sometimes, some tyres have rounder sidewalls, some had squarer sidewalls, it affects this issue as well), it's the wheel specs, like 15 x 6.5 +40 or something like that, usually written on the inside face of the wheel.

Have to jack up car to see lor?

David should be glad to do this, he can jack up his car then crawl underneath to impress his hot neighbour  laugh.gif  laugh.gif
My Kumho make my steering heavier now  rclxub.gif

Change la, better comfort  brows.gif

Not just jack up, jack up and remove one wheel laugh.gif I will report back the stock FLX SE wheel specs when I hopefully get the car this weekend and send it for tyre replacement. Still haven't found the wheel I want so I guess have to stick with the stock wheels.

Hm.. Out of curiosity, anyone of you guys know where to get embossed aluminium number plates? Been thinking of replacing the front one with one such unit.

Issit legal? last time I went to a accesories shop to ask, they say they have not been selling that for a long time dy coz it's not legal anymore  hmm.gif

There was no mention that it's illegal according to JPJ's website.

Quoted from here
QUOTE
Huruf dan nombor berwarna putih yang dilekatkan atau di'embossed' atas bingkai hitam.

It's written black and white that the usual stick on or embossed is allowed. As long as white words on black frame.

I was thinking of doing an embossed front plate as I plan to put a 2-row plate in front, looked better IMO, and by putting an embossed one, don't have to worry of the plastic plate breaking due to lack of support from high-speed runs(ie. more than legal speed limit in Malaysia), don't ask me how I know number plates break from lack from support though whistling.gif

Cheras here already cats and dogs. But no worries! I'm no longer on M5s!!  thumbup.gif

I discovered a downside about changing to 55 profile. When the steering is turned all the way to either side (turn til stop), the wheel pointed outside will scratch the inside of the wheel well, eg. when turned all the way to the right, the right wheel will touch inside of the wheel well (not the fender!).

It only happens when turned all the way or almost all the way, which only happens to me when parking or going slow speed, so not much problem for me. Just adjust the steering slightly and the sound will be gone.

Hm.. Weird that it touches the inside of the wheel well on 55 series tyre then, meaning your current tyre, even though the same 195, is slightly wider in thread width I suppose. Too bad Malaysia don't have hub-centric spacers, I think shouldn't be an issue of rubbing in wheel wells anymore if you add a 2-3mm spacer, but the balancing wouldn't be as nice(as most of these cheap spacers are flimsy) compared to stock if the stock wheels were hub centric.

Well.. That's kinda the headache also, rarely we get front/rear different offset for a set of wheels unless special order from Japan. But since it doesn't foul the wheel wells every time, I suppose you don't do full lock much also, can be ignored kot.

Malaysia, sometimes, I suppose only sell things that can earn a lot only. In Japan, we could get hub-centric spacers, meaning, it's kinda like centre cones, but instead of just a piece in the centre, it adds thickness as well like a spacer, basically, you'll still have the centre cone effect even though you're running spacers. Malaysia has these as well, but usually in far thicker spacers, never seen them in thickness of 5mm and below.

5mm minimum jor. I thought the same when I had the same problem like you, I thought sikit sikit takpa, after few months found the wheel arch being korek a big hole there sad.gif and that's why I put the spacer liao. You can check your wheel arch every month and see when the hole come out, by then its already too damn late. I will try to take some photo for you to show what kinda damage we're talking about
*
I rather doubt it'll be that serious until a hole on the wheel well la.. At best, your tyres sidewall on the inside have a funny shape. My "other" car which needs a lot of lock definitely hits the inside of the wheel wells when running on the street spec wheels, but so far, it's only a black rubber tyre mark there, been like 5 years. Running on parking speeds will so keng make a hole there? ohmy.gif

Haiya, so leceh wan. I tot no sagat hepi dy, tibai betul.

later put spacer takut sagat fender pulak  doh.gif
*
Usually it's the rear that will sagat, unless suddenly you have 2 100+kg driver and passenger la.. Front, not sure, can only get the car next week instead yawn.gif Can't verify with you how "flush" can we go on the wheels, can flush means no sagat issue what.. laugh.gif

BTW, anyone intending to book a new Saga, better make your decision quick. Heard there's going to be some price hike of around RM2k, some accessories will be added though. Can't verify this news, just a rumour I heard.

Update about my tire rubbing issue. As it turns out, the rubbing sound was from the tire rubbing against the plastic mudguard, not the body (I checked, there is still a small gap between the tire and the wheel well when fully turned, but it really does touch the mudguard.)

[attachmentid=2942786]

This is a relieve, since it is not damaging the paintwork on the chassis itself  thumbup.gif So I think no need spacers, I think spacers may actually make it worse  icon_question.gif
*
Yeah.. Adding spacers wouldn't help here, I was thinking it was rubbing on the insides of the wheel well(the rubberised coating part), hence I suggested spacers.

But, from the looks of this, it just plain means we'll have to stick to the stock diameter as much as possible, meaning the best possible choice(without sacrificing comfort like the standard 195/50) is either 185/55 and 205/50, shesh.. all the "rare" sizes, can't save much from 195/55(in terms of costs) but no choice, since it seems that this just means 195/55 might be a little too big a diameter for the front wheel wells!
