same here. but last year when they charged me AF for my Essential & GSC, i called the call center and they waived both AF for me.
i'm a heavy user of Mach though...

you can consider keeping Essential coz not many cc now offers 0.6% on all retail, it's valuable (more cashback) when you're buying expensive stuff.

Celcom used to get cash back until recently...

just got STY1-Cashback of RM 25 in my latest statement. called CS and confirmed it is for the CREDIT CARD SERVICE TAX rebate which was charged back in May 2019. need to swipe 3 times of any amount within 30 days.

i called last Thu and was able to get that rebate. please try call again.

in that case, i will have to call to cancel it before it expires next Jun 2021. dont want the hassle of getting a new card and having to cancel it later.

darn it, why they can't honor the previous announcement, till the cc expiry date?

when you get charged earlier this year, you need to contact HLB to get waiver. you can try your luck if you could still get it now.

mine was charged last month, contacted HLB and the agent waived it without conditions, reflected in acc within 3 days

was happy and surprised coz usually you need to spend RMxx to get waiver. turns out it was a bad news - cc discontinued....

i see, SST for all cc is compulsory, it's a new card after all, but i believe they will get you waiver, once u fulfilled the conditions.

btw, why didn't you asked for waiver in March for your Mach?

HLB call agent told me there are 2 diff sms being sent out
1. like mine which didn't mentioned about replacement card - no new card will be sent to me
2. another one got mention about replacement card - the mentioned card will be sent to you

is mach card part of hari2 cashback? i only got cashback for my essential but not mach.
