i got mine at Mid Valley, they handed me the card fresh from embossing machine. then, they proceed with card activation on the system, using my thumbprint for verification.

if you're near HLB branch, immediately fill up the SMS Notification to RM1.
if you're so paranoid applying the cards, dont apply lor. somewhere, someone going to view the documents throughout the application -> approval -> card delivery process, right?

if i'm not mistaken, in the registration form, there's a lenghty T&Cs on privacy-related matters. 

should be ok.

CCV is used for online transactions. And you will get a PIN via SMS to your phone to verify online transaction.
Unless the staff updated your contact to his phone.

All the more you should have online account to monitor your transactions and preferably set the alert limit to RM1.

I received a call from 011-10823623. It was a Malay speaking lady calling about my Hong Leong Bank card. She said that she was from VISA/Mastercard Rewards and that they were calling all VISA/Mastercard holders in Malaysia regarding a rewards points card, claiming that this card was supposed to be sent along with my VISA card from HLB.

She asked to confirm the standard details like name and IC, which she already had on hand. She then asked for verification on my credit card, which I began to feel suspicious. I intentionally gave her the incorrect expiry date on my card, to which she replied with "are you sure it's not [correct date]?"

I did not complete the verification process, saying that I did not have the card with me. She said she would call me back tomorrow. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I don't remember ever reading/seeing this card, and Googling doesn't seem to return any results. Thanks for any help.

I had the same experience. Applied together with my sister, hers was approved on the spot while mine pending approval.

However, the card was not given on the spot there and then. We both received the card about a week later.

but I didn't have an existing HLB card.....

I just recently got my MACH credit card. How do I check my statement? Online or they will send to my email?
Also the cashback cap for each category is RM100 every 3 months or is the limit shared by all category?
The fee for additional category is RM5 every 3 months?
For the fee waiver is either swipe 12 times or spend RM8000 a year..so online transaction is consider as a swipe?

You don't have better general card? Or other cards that give very little cash back for retail spending?

Have you applied in Paradigm or not? If yes, then wait for it. If not, then try at MV. Maybe they still allow.
Last time when I applied in Pavilion, I also didn't get it on the spot, pending for approval from their HQ, I only got it the next working day. Supposedly if nothing happened that time, I will get it on the spot.

If i apply for TrendSetter category, and purchase airasia flight/hotel online, is it 1% airasia cashback + 1% online spending = 2%? Thanks!

1) do I need to re-submit for SMS Alert again ?
Based on the form, it only required to tick what type of credit card (MC / Visa & etc) since I have submitted for my Wise card before

2) Is the statement date is same with other HL credit card like yours?
Otherwise, will required change statement date

Waiting branch to call for pick up the card, hopefully it will reach by next week...
