Guys, I'll be going to Bangkok for the first time by end of the month alone for working trip. I've read the first page regarding the air port scam in Suvarnabhumi airport which really freak me out. Since that story is kinda old, I would like to know about the condition there now? What should i take note of to keep the customs from disturbing me? And the taxis there, are those taxi scam still there?
I'll be staying in The Heritage Hotel Bangkok, any attraction such as night market around there?

Guys... any good night market which accessible via BTS rail? Currently staying in Silom area, too bad suan lum has been closed.. i'm avoiding PatPong due to bad comment and it's a famous red district area since I'm travelling alone I prefer to avoid this place.
Any other good place to recommend? And proper thai massage recommendation?

Planning to pay a visit around Wat Arun, Wat Pho & Grand Palace during the evening. Hmm.. based on those that went there before, is it cheaper to book the trip through travel agent or just go by urself? I'm thinking of taking the BTS to Saphan Taksin then take the ferry over there. Do you guys know how much roughly it cost?

QUOTE(Serendipity123 @ Oct 31 2012, 01:57 PM) It's cheaper to go by yourself. It's easy to just take the ferry and go to these 3 places. I don't remember how much it was but it was cheap. If you're going in the evening, please check the opening hours of these places. And, please BEWARE of people telling you that the Wat Pho / Grand Palace are closed and offer or suggest you to go somewhere else instead. They will most probably bring you to somewhere that sells gems. We almost got duped once. Noted on that... will be extra careful about it I just check the ferry only around 20baht per journey.. very cheap for me.
