1.3L can reach 180km/h, just that it takes a longer time Best bet to hit that speeds will be a Satria + drop in performance filter and exhaust mods without changing the piping.
Azuma-kun, wanna rev to max, 1st gear tarik till 50-60km/h (you should be close or at redline 7K already), 2nd gear tarik till 90km/h (red line), 3rd gear tarik again 120-130km/h then the rest you know lah XD

I've tried 80km/h on 2nd gear b4. Top speed achieved was 170km/h Mods applied: 1) HKS 3 layer super hybrid performance drop in filter. 2) Custom diy cold air intake (minor mod only) 3) Removed catalytic converter

kazami, can't compare auto to manual, ours longer ratio since only 3 main gears for pickup and top speed and of course your GB will kong faster if u always 7K revs If you scared, install a ATF cooler, can tahan longer the lifespan thom_chai : 170km/h with minor mods is okay loh, some can't even get 170km/h with a 1.3 I suggest you do some mods with the exhaust besides decat, sure can reach 180km/h albeit longer XD This post has been edited by shinjite: May 4 2007, 07:59 PM

QUOTE(shinjite @ May 4 2007, 02:06 AM) Satria 1.3 has lighter body, I agree, 950+ kg vs 1 tonne+ Yup they use the same engine, except for the 1.8 4G93 SOHC, the rest all same, 4G13-4G15-4G92 SOHC & 4G93 DOHC. Overall, I feel Satria is a good 3 door hatchback vehicle. thom_cai : Aiyah, my 4G92 SOHC no power 1 ler....auto somemore, need to change to manual tranny first for powah XD Hope you guys dont mind me asking abt Satria here as I don't get much answers from Satria club. Anyhow,I'm looking at the 1.3 Satria. In terms of fc and maintenance, what do you all think? Which year is best to look at?

Hmmm....about which year is best to look at, try sourcing for MMC ECU cars dated <2001
In terms of FC, depends on several factors like how good is the engine (serviced regularly, no sludge built-up and minimise carbon), driving style (heavy/light footed), driving conditions (mostly city/highway), tyres (properly inflated?). Your transmission plays a role too apart from torque)
FC is okay since I have a couple of friends driving 1.3 Wiras and Satrias but it still all comes down mainly to your driving style. A lighter foot will yield wonders. About maintenance, it is okay because the parts all can be sourced and easy to find. No worries on this.

Azuma-kun, it is IMPORTANT to service your car regularly. You wouln't want sludge to build up as well as carbon, it will increase your FC and sacrifice performance a lot.
I saw my friend's 1.6 auto engine head and it was black, crap....and he is complaining about high fc and lack of performance. Told him to go for overhaul but he dun want, so up to him loh. I tested his car, really no power at all.....
thom_chai : Woooo....Powerzone 4-2-1 extractor eh?? Hehehe, chun ler. Next time we meet, I wanna feel your 1.3 XD POWAH~~!!
