QUOTE(KucingKelabu @ Jan 1 2007, 11:52 PM) Actually they did offer installation, I'm just asking for second opinion. They quote RM230 for installation (meter wiring, digital aircond, dashboard). Is that reasonable? its actually useless in our countryBy the way, I've been wondering what is this: ![]() The pipe that connects between the exhaust part and the air intake part. I'm always confused about what is this. I asked a few servicemen and they say "it's nothing". Can anyone help me explain what is that part? Edit : oh, that's a 1.3M carb wira engine that is due to be cleaned. I'm always postponing the cleaning x.x the hose supply the hotter air from the extractor to the engine during the cold weather (overseas winter) something to help in continuos driving in cold weather....... btw i seal the hole from the air filter snorkel as malaysian weather is enough hot This post has been edited by net_cow: Jan 3 2007, 01:59 AM |

Is that reasonable? Only carburettor Wira's have this, it is supposed to help your engine warm up faster during cold starts by feeding warmer air into your intake. Cold engines are sluggish and this will help to get your engine to the right operating temp. By the way, I've been wondering what is this: ![]() The pipe that connects between the exhaust part and the air intake part. I'm always confused about what is this. I'm always postponing the cleaning x.x Mine was spoiled, the connecting part at the aluminium cover cracked causing the hose not able to fit properly. I was running without the hose for a while and noticed that my car really felt more sluggish in the mornings. Managed to get a compatible one (Mitsu Lancer I think) from a kedai potong for RM20. Now the engine is less sluggish in the mornings and gets up to temp quicker than before. |

QUOTE(black_rider @ Jan 2 2007, 06:29 PM) Hey guys, do you all experience door slam that does not gives out good feeling? How to make it back to the 'feel' like when first get our car? Change the rubber? The door lock has a role to play also in giving you the new 'thud' sound that we always hear in new cars.Changing to a new lock will help. |

Thx i experience this tak tak tak sound before, but that is when i changed my engine oil to another brand. I red before in some other forum stating that this has sumthin to do with the type of engine (carb or injection) and it's engine oil. so what i did i started to use shell's engine oil (believing it's a good engine oil), well the tak tak tak sound now no more. i juz afraid if i misunderstand the concept all together, hopefully the sifu's out there can elaborate and explain better. few cents |
