QUOTE(archive @ Sep 27 2012, 02:03 PM) I've come to the realization that I need a smaller laptop over a powerful laptop, so I'm asking for advice once more. 1. Prefered brand : Anything 2. Budget : RM6000 (give or take) 3. Usage : Adobe Creative suite, movies, light gaming while I'm traveling 4. Prefered screen size : 13" to 15" I'm after something in the ultrabook class of laptops preferably - something light and easy to carry. I would prefer at least 8gb of ram, latest generation i5+, an SSD (128gb min), and a dedicated graphics card (instead of shared - I will be doing a lot of photoshop work). I know thats a big ask for a small laptop, but I'm hoping there's something on the market that will match my needs. What I don't need is an optical drive, although if it comes with one, thats a plus. With that budget, you could get pretty much anything you want. Why not have a look at the Samsung Series 9 Ultra? http://www.samsung.com/my/consumer/pc-peri...=NP900X3A-A01MYPrice wise here http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2351889/all

QUOTE(ukimaro @ Sep 27 2012, 03:22 PM) Owh, in that case means 14r se is a better buy? And is it possible to upgrade RAM with an ultrabook? Feel that 2gb of RAM is little . I'm in the dilemma on which model to choose among the 3 mentioned above. Lol. As mentioned previously, it all depends on what you want... 14R SE is the better choice if you want CPU (graphic rendering, analyses etc.) and GPU (gaming, 3D designing etc.) performance Some people prefer portability over performance, while others vice versa.. Most ultrabook have soldered RAMs I think

Anyway, the U410 suffers from weak WiFi problems, better go for the newer S400 or other ultrabooks instead ya

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Sep 26 2012, 11:32 PM) 17.3" Lenovo Ideapad G780, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT630M + (1600x900)@RM2699[3.0kg], 4GB, 750GB(5400rpm) Perhaps you can look for 2nd hand units of G770 or Dell Vostro 3750 I went to physically look at Lenovo G780. It's HD display is ok, but I rather prefer FHD 1. Suppose I increase the budget to <RM4000, what is the most reasonable price 17" laptop with FHD display? 2. What will be anyone suggestion for 2nd hand 17" laptop with FHD? Again, thank you for all your help

Hi all, I'm currently looking for a laptop for company use, the least spec that would be needed are i7 processor with 8gb ram. I need to run virtual machine(s) on that laptop so one with super performance is needed. No particular brand in mind. Preferred windows 7 professional. HDD 500gb is ok but if can get more then great the budget is 3k. Any recommendations? Thank you in advance
