Taxi meter start at 600 or 700 yen. Then goes 100 yenfor each 500m. Thsere also additional midnight surcharge.Use map to estimatr distance and cost.

Tried when me and my partner have to move with big luggages within short distances.

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to get a (Holiday) Visa for 30 days? Is it only limited to 15 days? I'm planning a trip there from north to south Japan for 30 days. Anyone done this before?

last bus/train is 12am AFAIK.

Depends on what you plan to do there...

Getting around Tokyo is no problem via their very extensive rail network.
But bear in mind, the trains do get packed around rush hour. So carrying your kid in a crowded train MIGHT be a problem.

Depending on where you stay and where you want to go, most destinations are within 20-30mins. Inclusive of changing trains.

Other than that, I'd say Tokyo is very child friendly.
If you're going to Osaka, Hokkaido, or any other part of Japan, it shouldn't be a problem smile.gif

Better to stay in Toyoko Inn Haneda Kuko. There's a free shuttle bus from International Terminal, last one is at 12.20 am

http://www.toyoko-inn.com/e_hotel/00042/index.html

At 8480 yen / RM325 per room for a double room with queen size, it's quite reasonable by Japanese standards.

The next morning you can take the normal train to central Tokyo, only about 300 yen.

Actually the objective of this trip is to explore Tokyo - shopping, sightseeing, etc... for 7D5N.. the reason not to travel to Osaka/Kyoto is because I'll be bringing a kid there.... do u think it's wasteful not to explore to other cities instead of just Tokyo? Do you think 7 days in Tokyo alone will be too much ? Btw, which area of Tokyo has a good central location with nearby MRT with a decent price around RM300++ per night?

Is there any hassle taking the city train with all the luggages because my feeling is that the Tokyo's city train is hugely packed with peoples?

The are midnight limousine buses to Tokyo-lah.. check 1st page. price will be almost doubled the normal rate so a 900yen normal rate probably cost ~1600yen/pax by bus.

Otherwise, just sleep overnite in the airport. just on those chairs will do

By taxi, the rate will be fixed too.. can't be so high as RM500 as I can see brochure advertising fixed midnite taxi at ~6000yen (RM240)

In Japan, transportation cost is not cheap even using MRT.. imagine min rate per stn already ~160yen or RM6.50!

If you like seeing the outskirts of Japan, then you definitely need to go to places like Kyoto etc, otherwise.. there is lots to see i Tokyo itself.

If you plan on going to Disney Sea and Disney Land, those 2 places will already take up one full day EACH.

Basically anywhere in Tokyo is very near some form of train Station. Best is to stay in places like Shibuya, Shinjuku.
You can get around Tokyo just by using the JR Line. Which stop at all the major stations.
