runner fees means they help you to apply while you just provide all the documents right?
*
Yes. All other documents also you need to provide for eg..Certified true copy of your bank statement, Employer confirmation letter, guranttee letter supporting the expenses of your family & etc..All you still to provide to the agent for sure..otherwise how are they going to get those personal thingies wor biggrin.gif

Anyway, for 1st timer, they will list up what items you need to provide to them as well as sample gurantee letter.

OKla, can see at hakone also jadi  biggrin.gif
*
Hakone side only slight leftover snow. No doubt The summit of the volcano much higher than Nikko but due the location which is ~ 300km South of Nikko..Snow much harder to see even at 1000M above sea level..The summit temperature on top of the volcano ~ 4-6C compare to Nikko avg Temp of ~ 2-4C during my time there.. Tokyo in early March ~ 8C to 14C

QUOTE(seather @ Jan 14 2013, 05:04 PM)
Hi all, am working on a budget for a 10d/9n trip to japan for 2 (Osaka -> Kyoto -> Tokyo):

Meals for 2 per day: Average RM300
Hotel : Average RM400 per nite
Local Transport + Sights: RM1400 for the whole trip

Comes to about RM9.5k for 2... doable? hmm.gif

not inclusive airtix
*
Meals no need so much.. Avg meals in Tokyo is ~ 400-800yen..That's RM15-RM30 and the most only ~ RM200/day for 2 wth 3 meals per day.

Hotel, there are cheaper below RM300 for 2 also..not hostel but proper room wth attached bathroom but small.

Local transport...This is the one you need to worry. Tranport cost in Japan is super expensive..I doubt RM1400 enough esp you are traveling from Kyoto to Tokyo...Even if you buy JR rail pass biggrin.gif ..One JR Rail pass for 1 week already >RM1000/pax & MRT travel per stn already 160yen and not fiorgetting the taxi rate is not cheap too

If you goto KBS world side or CCTV, wel almost few days once reporting severe cold strikeand the temperature is not as mild as Tokyo haha.. can dropped till minus 25 to minus 30C...Tokyo Today temperature wth snow only ~ 2C

Quite confused with the JR pass. Just buy 1 standard JR pass then can travel anywhere?
*
Yes but only for those railways operated by JR Lines.. you cannot use it in any other MRTs or trains not operated by JR and in Japan there are lotsa railways privately owned & not related to JR

What The Japan Govt sked is illegal immigrants. There are lotsa illegal M'sian to Japan in the 80's That's why the Japanese Govt is so paranoid against M'sian going there.. Even my neighbour was an illegal immigrant there in the 80's!

If just showing the offer letter which was issued years ago or last yr (Let Say)..it might not help the application. They want the current status of your employment and a confirmation from your emploer at current date will support you

Around Sg Wang & the main entrance of BB Plaza already having the most competitive Money changing rate and sometime better than Mid Valley..Why so susah goto Kepong?

Anyway..Why wanna incur so much of exchange commision changing A$ to RM & thereafter Won? Easier just bring A$ direct to Seoul and change at those shanty money changers ~ Namdaemun or Myeondong areas (Not the Airport). Otherwise, If the rate in Austaralia better, might as well change Won in Australia

Yen you mean? haha. Yea. You got the point. I'm still confuse about changing in Aussie or in KL, most of them told me the disadvantage of changing in Aus would be the tax thingy or handling fees, changing in Japan would be the same as well, friend from Japan told me they usually charge handling fees. 手数费.
My friend and I worked out some calculations, found out that AUD to MYR then JPY will earn a bit more? We doubted if we calculated correctly. doh.gif
So in conclusion, either way won't save much because we're not exchanging a big amount. I might as well just walk to the counter that day and ask the person to count for me, if he's willing to. tongue.gif
*
Opss sorry confused about Seoul & Tokyo threads blush.gif Yes The exchange rate in Tokyo also bad..worst than M'sia.. You need more homework by comparing the mark to market rate and also excahngers in Aussie

Don't worry, there will be lotsa blooming Cherry blosom in Tokyo too if you can find biggrin.gif But you will not see rows & rows of blooming flowers but those trees that decided to bloom early biggrin.gif

During my trip in Early Mar 2012, I saw few blooming trees surrounding Tokyo esp inside Senjosi Temple ground (Only 2 trees blooming that time) and also one ~ Nihonbashi - nearby my hotel).. On the way to Hakone, I also saw rows of blooming sakura from the train.. rclxms.gif

This one taken beside Senjosi Asakusa Temple pagoda
