1) I would like to improve my listening skill for japanese. I do not know if my vocab isn't strong enough or my listening skill is bad. mostly I can hear the noun(仕事、学生、学校、みんなさん) ,adverb(でも、 それから、なかなか、本当に、どんどん) and overused phrases(ありがとうございました、こんばんは)。It is like I have never heard of verb or adjective from listening. And i can hear ...ですか/ます but cant hear what was the word before.. For listening material, I would say so far variety show suits me most. i can hear clearly and the voice is not boring and i can hear for 2 hours continuously on 1 shot. I am hearing そうだったのか on my ipod downloading as mp3 from youtube and i like the voice of the host. Just found out he worked as NHK reporter before. Even though i can only catch the main word like noun, adverb and like 10% of the conversation but i still listen anyway. So any of you have any other nice japanese variety show so that I can download and hear from time to time?
2) For those who have passed N2 and above. I want to know if you do the mock tests for N3 and N4 even if you don't take it and memorise all the vocab in N3 N4? I am self-studying and currently I have finished N3 material by myself and I plan to take N2 this July. What I mean is should I waste time on N4 and N3 material before going to N2 material or should I finish my N2 material and do all the mock tests of N2 out there? Since I am taking N2 test and i think most of the kanji and vocab won't come out much from N3 or N4 material so it is better I focus all my vocab on N2? I would say my listening skill is the worst among all section because I don't watch japanese drama nor anime. So for listening I would do every test out there for N4,N3 and N2.
