No it's really easy actually compared to learning how to hold an actual conversation with a Japanese.

I'm considering taking an intensive course in the language and it boils down to either ICLS or A To Z Language Centre.

Would love to hear your opinions on either of these 2 language centres as there aren't many recent reviews online on both. Thanks! smile.gif

How many people here take lessons at these language schools? Or any other schools besides the one snowcandy mentioned? Or do you take the language at university as an extra language? I'm quite interested to know.

When I go for JLPT, I always see people hanging around together in a group, like they might be from the same institute/school, but I never really bothered to ask them about it. Just go there, take the exam, and terus balik rumah. 人見知りですから blush.gif

Can someone tell me about JLPT levels? Is that level 1 the highest or level 10 the highest? And what is the lowest level?

I originally planned to take Japanese language class starting September. But between workload, money problem and professional examinations, looks like I will need to defer my plans again sad.gif

the examinations are there for you to get certificates so that you are able to enter Japanese universities or apply any job that needed the qualifications based on the certs.
Unless you are aiming to work in a Japanese company or something similar to that, I don't see why you are needed to take the examinations.
Correct me if I'm wrong. Just my 2cents.

hi, i took the ICLS intensive course last month at the damansara branch. it cover beginner 1, beginner 2, intermediate 1 and intermediate 2 in 4 weeks time. i would say i love it, the teacher there are super nice and frenly. in this 1 month time i manage to learn to read and write hiragana and katakana without any problem now. i can now listen to basic conversation without any problem as well although i still have a long way to speak properly (basic stuff ok though). so if u really wan to learn jap and wan to join the intensive class, i highly recommend it.

anyone self study using minna no nihongo book? where can i find the answer for the exercise questions?
